Caturday Art

For today's Caturday Art blog hop, hosted by our furiend Athena Cat Goddess Wise Kitty, I'm sharing the most recent drawing I've completed for my goofy series starring the furbabies in my life. This piece was created for a one of my parents' mancats, and his name is Trapper.

Trapper is one of my girl Thimble's three biological brothers. Trapper and Thimble both look and often act very much alike, the main difference between them being their vast size difference. After all, Trapper is practically twice Thimble's size, weighing in at a mere 20 pounds. Although he would be a large cat regardless, Trapper could certainly stand to lose some weight. My parents are working on that, but the overly laidback, one chilled dude of a cat is a bit resistant to the notion. Perhaps this is in part due to the fact that he has learned to use his weight to his advantage, such as when sitting on or plowing through his furry siblings to win the prime snoozing spots. These such skills prompted us to start referring to Trapper as the juggernaut of the family, which then prompted me to draw this:

We hope everybuddy has a wonderful Caturday!

Our Tip of the Day:
Please keep in mind that excess weight and obesity is not a matter to take lightly in your furbabies. Overweight animals can end up with potentially detrimental medical issues, including heart disease, respiratory problems, diabetes, arthritis, and/or liver damage. If your furbaby is overweight, or if you have any concern regarding your cat or dog's weight, consult a veterinarian. It is important to ensure that excess weight is not a result of an underlying disease. And, it is just as important to get a handle on weight issues in your furbaby as early as possible.

Trapper is a cutie :) He reminds me of my Sammy. Sammy used to be 20 pounds, but I have him down to a svelte 18 and a half. He is a tall boy, but could probably lose another pound. I have 2 other kitties that need to lose weight too.

Trapper and I are so much alike. i'm a couch potato. The only exercise I get is going downstairs to the litter box and back up and playing with the Neko Fly about 4 times a day. Your drawing is lovely tho.

HAH! He rules with iron paws! Obesity is no laughing matter as both TW's flabby tabbies died before their 10th birthdays.
