Friday!

We love Fridays around these parts. Who doesn't? And, who doesn't love the Friendly Fill-Ins challenge that Friday brings?

We know we love it! And this week our hosts, the ingenious 15andmeowing and McGuffy's Reader, brought some very clever fill-ins to the table:

1. When I run out of _________, I use _________ instead.
2. My guru is _________.
3. I am afraid of _________.
4. I feel empowered _________.

I always try to live up the to fill-ins' potentials. But, I'll let you all be the judge of my success, or lack thereof.

1. When I run out of tissues, I use toilet paper.
(Sometimes, when it's allergy season or you have a really bad cold, no amount of tissues is enough. When I run out and am just not up for a trip to the store, toilet paper is called in. I'm not the only who does this, right?)

2. My guru is my angel Rosie.
(I was blessed enough to have my lady cat Rosie by my side from the time I was 4 years old until I was 26 years old. She was my best friend and confidant throughout my childhood and all the way into my adulthood, and she taught me more about life than anyone else ever could. Needless to say, she will always be my inspiration.)

3. I am afraid of mankind's potential.
(I don't know whether this sounds profound or just completely ridiculous. What it comes down to is that mankind has made a mark for itself in this world, developing it into what it is today, and propelling toward a future even more complex. I know that is something of which to be proud, but I won't lie, it scares me. From tracking devices to artificial intelligence to all sorts of manufactured food and drugs, the terrifying possibilities are endless.)

4. I feel empowered when I do a good deed.
(This probably sounds counterintuitive. What I mean to say is, I feel a great sense of accomplishment and even pride when I put aside my own needs to help others. It really is a great and uplifting feeling, knowing that you might have made someone else's day by sacrificing part of your own.)

Now, are you ready for a little Eddy fix?

Can you believe how she's mostly sitting still here?!? What prompted this moment of calm, you ask? The answer would be the promise of sitting on the seat of her mommy's exercise bike. Want to know something else? Eddy's especially fond of sitting on it after her mommy has just finished using it. And want to know what's even better? When her mommy puts down her nasty sweat towel for Eddy to lie on! Eddy thinks that makes the most perfect bed.

Yep. Nothing like the aroma of the mom's sweat to lull a girl to sleep.

TMI? Most definitely.

Happy Friday, everybuddy! We hope you're ready for the weekend!

Our Tip of the Day:
Although above I may have cited a fear of some of the world's advances, such as tracking devices, there is one such advancement that it is truly beneficial, and that would be microchips for our furbabies. That's why today's tip is to please have your furbaby microchipped. What's more, please remember to register that microchip with all of your current information, and all of your furbaby's current information. If the microchip company allows for pictures to be uploaded to their site, please do consider putting an up-to-date picture of your furbaby, so that he or she can be more easily identified in the case that they become lost. And please make sure that you stay on top of renewing your furbaby's microchip as needed. Some company's require yearly renewal, sometimes with a fee, so be sure that you are familiar with this setup for your furbaby's microchip in particular. Microchips can be a godsend if your furbaby goes missing. Many veterinary offices, shelters, and animal control facilities will scan for a microchip when a lost animal is brought in. So, be sure your furbaby has one, and that it is kept up-to-date. Better safe than sorry!

Thank you for always putting so much effort into the fill-ins, I always love your answers and this week is no exception. I love that your Angel Rosie is your guru, you truly were blessed to have her in your life for so long.
You are definitely not the only one that uses tp for tissues. :)
#3 is very scary. I love your photos of Eddy, that is sweet that she likes to sit on your towel and bike. I am impressed that you use your exercise bike.
Great tip too-microchipping is so important. Have a great weekend!

I definitely use TP in place of tissues when I run out. It's an excellent substitution! :)

I absolutely could not agree with you more on #3 - so very scary!

Eddy is a very smart kitty having you warm up the seat for her. ;)

Substitutions, Gurus, Fear and Empowerment – just some Fun Friendly Fill-Ins on a Friday!

Haha! As someone with allergies, I can definitely relate to your answer for number one. Eddy, you look beautiful, as usual. Happy World Photography Day, dear pals!

If it makes you feel any better, I ALWAYS grab a paper towel. (Unless I have a cold and my nose needs constant attention.) Tissues and TP do NOT hold up. And various cats of mine have loved my sweaty tee shirts. I guess it smells like love to them !

I had a childhood cat who would love to lay on my dad's stinky work shirt after he'd come home for the day. A few times I even had to put a little baby powder on her afterwards!

Eddy is adorable.

No, you aren't the only one that uses toilet paper in place of Kleenex tissues. We do, too.

Have a blessed weekend!

I actually thought about using your answer for #1 because I have a bad cold and grab whatever is most handy, be it Kleenex or toilet tissue, it all works the same! :-)

My husband had a cat that lived to be 20 years old, your Rosie was even older than that which is quite rare. You really did grow up together and I bet her little spirit is close by you still!

I agree with you about mankind's potential, if only we used all our talents for the good, but it seems like we are hell bent for self-destruction. It IS scary.

Doing good for others is a double blessing, it helps them and it makes us feel good too!

My furkids love piles of dirty laundry and our often nap on our shoes too, I guess because they smell like outdoors... or is it that they just smell like our feet? :-)

Great fill in responses. The mom says when she runs out of TP she uses Kleenex. :)

We loved your fill-ins for #2 and #4, and Mom says she has just carried a roll of toilet paper around with her when she has had a cold. Mom figures she'll have passed away before your fears in #3 are realized. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

I understand how you feel about this world's future but I think good will always win in the end. Although, there may be some losses before people come to their senses and do what's right.

Great answers! BTW, due to allergies, basically 'live' on Allerclear 11 months of the year - it's economical and effective.

Oh, those pesky allergies! I've dealt with them this entire past week. I've probably raised the stock of Benadryl with as many as I've taken lately.

I love that Rosie is your hero.

I really love your answers. I can relate. I always read the fill-ins on Friday and then get back to them to comment. Weekends are so hectic right now, but will settle down as we get into Fall. Thank you for participating in the Friendly Fill-Ins. We appreciate your participation. Hugs. Annie at ~McGuffy's Reader~
