Thimble Thursday: Glam It Up

Unsurprisingly, Thimble is here today to demonstrate how to glam up any photo shoot. Her first instruction is to find that perfect light source.

Line yourself up just right in the glow and bask in its glory. With that done, you'll need to decide what look you're going for.

Are you going for seductive?

Or do you want that smoldering glare?

Or, um, the staring-at-the-back-of-your-eyelids look? What can I say? Being a gorgeous model is tough and tiring work.

That all being said, Thimble would like to use Brian's Thankful Thursday Blog Hop to express her gratitude for the lovely sun, nap time, and of course all of you furiends out there!

Now, for the last bit of business. We mentioned yesterday that we've sort of found ourselves doing a series of foodie furbaby fridge magnets. On Monday Evan showed off his buttery pancakes, and yesterday Astrid debuted her beef burger. Now, as for Thimble, there's this:

I'd like to say I have a good explanation for this, but, alas, I do not. Thimble is indeed sugary sweet like a glazed donut, if not a bit on the adorably round side as well. But, this little ladycat has not a single piece of human food that she requests and that I could therefore use as a basis. Well, she does like baby food, and to steal licks of flour when I'm baking, but I really just wasn't feeling either of those for this series of foodie doodles. So, a donut it is.

Have a beautiful Thursday!

Our Tip of the Day:
Since we seem to be on another food trend, today seems like a good day to give a reminder that you should avoid feeding your furbaby sweets, such as those manufactured with refined sugar. Not only can over-consumption of such foods lead to issues such as obesity and dental disease in cats and dogs just as it can in humans, but it can also lead to conditions such as diabetes. That's not to say that there aren't sweet treats that can't be enjoyed. After all, dogs have actually been found to have a sweet tooth. Kitties don't generally seem to share this trait with their canine counterparts, but each animal's food preferences will differ. That being said, while it is best to avoid baked sweets and other refined sugar products, there are plenty of naturally sweet foods that can be fed as treats, while also offering a variety of health benefits. Apples, bananas, watermelon, and a variety of berries, for example, can swerve as sweet, safe, and even healthy treats. (Remember, grapes and raisins are a no-no!) Even foods like peanut butter and yogurt, in moderation, can serve as delicious and sweet treats for your furbaby. So, fret not. Just because we shouldn't share our baked goods and candy with our furbabies doesn't mean they can't enjoy some delicious sweetness.

The pictures of Thimble are beautiful. Love the drawing of her in the center of the donut. Growing up we had a cat that would eat, donuts, cakes and she really loved danish or coffee cakes. She would tear open the bags or boxes that they came in to get to them. We had to store every of that nature in the frig. Again Thimble the photos of you are awesome.
