Friday Fun

Raise your paw if you're ready for the weekend! All paws (and hands) are raised here. To kick off the weekend, how about some Friendly Fill-Ins, hosted by the fantastic 15andmeowing and McGuffy's Reader?

As always, our hosts gave us some some fill-ins to get our creative juices flowing.

1. My favorite cereal is _________.
2. My prom _________.
3. The _________ thing about _________ is _________.
4. I cannot help _________, but _________.

So, I stirred up those stagnant juices in my brain, and here were the results:

1. My favorite cereal is corn Chex.
(I don't eat a whole lot of cereal these days, which may or not be in large part because I can't eat anything with wheat or lactose and the like. But, when I do eat cereal, I go straight for the corn Chex sort. I love corn, and I love corn cereal, and if I were to keep this stuff on hand at my house I'd probably go through a box a day or so. I also love making puppy chow – which I believe is also known as monkey munch and muddy buddies – using my beloved corn cereal.)

2. My prom didn't really interest me.
(I did go to both my junior and senior proms, those being 2 of the very few school dances I ever went to. Never having been anything resembling a social type, I never got excited at the prospect of things like school dances. I did go to prom, though, but I mainly just sat back with my friends while there. If I had to do it over again, I don't know if I'd go. It was pretty boring.)

3. The best thing about my kids is that they have four legs and fur.
(First, I mean absolutely no offense to any human children or their parents with this answer! I myself do not have human children, and I honestly don't see myself ever having any. I don't feel that's my calling. But, I do have kids of the four-legged and furry sort, and I wouldn't have it any other way.)

4. I cannot help saying hello to every animal I see, but that won't be changing anytime soon.
(I've done this ever since I was a small child. My parents have always told me how things like going on walks or bike rides or even trick-or-treating took forever with me as a child, because I had to stop and say hi to or wave at every single furbaby I saw. To be honest, nothing has changed since then. Not that all of these furry cuties know or care about my acknowledgements, but it makes me feel better knowing I didn't ignore them.)

Okay, now, are you ready for your weekly Eddy fix? I hope you are, because this girl has been busy. What's she been busy doing? Mountain climbing, of course!

Eddy thinks her momma's headboard is her very own personal Mount Everest.

I don't even know how this girl's face is that blurry when the rest of her was, by nothing short of a miracle, sitting still.

Sometimes it's tough finding a good foothold when mountain climbing. Don't worry, though, this girl is a pro.

See? She even does tricks. Like whatever trick that there is.

Yep, just pull that leg up there, Eddy. Just doing a little balancing act, are you?

And, of course, more blur.

Wishing everybody a fantastic Friday!

Our Tip of the Day:
For today's tip, we recommend you yet again use our doodle as an example of what not to do. To begin with, keep in mind that plants such as tulips can be toxic to cats and dogs. Always make sure that you do your research and never bring your furbaby in contact with dangerous plants, either outside or inside the house. In some cases, even the water being used to feed plants, such as those inside in pots and vases, can be potentially dangerous. This is especially the case if additives, such as plant food or any type of fertilizing agent, have been added. And also don't forget to always keep your furbabies and their activity levels in mind when decorating the home, such as with vases or other breakables. Always try to find somewhere safe, secure, and out of reach for such items. Safety before style!

Oh Eddy, you are so much like Two Two. She is always doing something. Too cute Eddy. Well done on that headboard. You all have a great day.

Great fill-ins. Completely agree with you on #3! :-)

Eddy always cracks me up, so funny how her photos are blurry. That is an odd spot to want to play , but if it makes her happy. I make puppy chow too, but the recipe I have calls for Honey Grahams instead of the corn chex. I like to make party mix with corn chex though, that is addictive. Children with 4 paws and fur are the best :) Very cute drawing and another excellent tip. I know this time of year we are tempted to bring flowers inside. We have some lilacs, but they are in the dining room ( a cat free zone). Have a nice weekend!

Your Eddy is so cute, and the photos are great! You sound like me, having to say hi to every animal I see, wherever we go. I've always done this, and I think they do appreciate the recognition. :)

What skillz you have, Eddy! We are very impressing and reminded that we have been remiss in our climbing adventures around here. Perhaps it's time we up our game! Wonderful fill-ins. Our Mom especially likes the last one. She's always been the same way and still, remembers the names of all the pets in the neighborhood while completely forgetting the owners' names.

I think I've said this before, but Eddy and Bear Cat must've gone to the same cat school ... "How to give your Mom a heart attack 401" ... "Fearless climbing 201" ... "No concept of danger 402."

That's quite the balancing act, Eddy!

You sure have good balance, Eddy! I have to be honest, the only time I eat Chex cereal is when I make party mix during the holidays!

I had to ponder the Puppy Chow. I know this must be one of those things like Chex Mix. However, I have known people who actually ate animal feed. One of the guys on my floor in college ate horse feed for a semester because one of the weight lifters told him that was a way to build muscle. Have a great weekend

I think that there trick is called the Blarney Stone maneuver. :) I love seeing your Eddy pictures. I think that your headboard is pretty, too.

There's nothing wrong with going with your strengths and yours is obviously furbabies. They need mommies, too.

Our oldest girl has always been a critter person, too. Even the ones that are supposedly dangerous to pet, like K-9 cops, they take right to her. The only dog that ever gave her a problem was my grandparents' Chihuahua, and that was one yappy little dog! I had to hold our daughter the whole time we were at my grandparents' house because she was afraid of Cricket. I was, too, but not for the same reason. I was always afraid that Cricket was going to make Grandma or Grandpa fall down and get hurt. He was forever running around their feet.

Have a blessed weekend. :)
