Caturday Bookworm

Lately, I've been doing a lot of experimentation with crafts for upcoming holiday art fairs. Sometimes, when I need a break from these random and messy artsy fartsy experiments, I doodle up one of my most favorite things. And what's that? A bookmark!

That's right, I enjoy doodling up good ol' bookmarks for good ol' books. I'm old-fashioned and still love to read physical books. I just recently started adding some e-books here and there to my collection, but I still stick heavily to the real deal. What about the rest of you peeps? Do you prefer physical books, or e-books?

And how about you furbabies? Do you help your humans read? If so, what kind of books do you like them to read? The furbabies around here are torn on their answer. When this mom of theirs reads real books, they sure do love to steal those bookmarks of hers and run off with them. Then again, though, e-books mean they get to paw at those touch screens and make the pages virtually fly. It's a toss-up.

Happy Caturday, everybuddy!

Our Tip of the Day:
Be sure to take advantage of lovely autumn weather, for the sake of your furbaby as well as yourself. In many regions, autumn is known for its crisp, cool weather. It is neither scorching as in the summer, nor frigid like in the winter. This is why it's such a wonderful time of year to take advantage of the outdoors. So, take your pups (or even kitties, for those who enjoy it) outdoors for extra or longer walks. Since car rides and other travels can be more comfortable in this temperate weather, use this season to go on extra trips for those furbabies who enjoy this. Of course, outdoor excursions are still important for dogs and some kitties even in the summer and winter, but autumn days can be a great time to make up for time and outdoor fun lost during months with less ideal weather. Have fun (but of course stay safe) this autumn!

  1. I am a real book reader and I often have a furry purring baby in my lap while I read, but they like the magazines the best because I sit at the counter and thumb through them and they can come sit right on it so I can't turn the page ... I think they are control freaks. Anyway, the dog gets walked every day and we now have one cat who loves to sneak out the door when we are leaving or entering. She doesn't go far, but loves romping in the fresh air. We bought her a safety collar just in case she wonders too far. But we make sure she is in by evening as there are dangerous critters in the night.

  3. That book mark is adorable, those will be a hit at the sales. I mainly read actual books and my cats play with the bookmarks too and once in a while they scratch the books-nuaghty kitties. Phoebe is loving her walks in the fall weather. She would stay out all day if she could.

  5. OMC that is fantabulous!!! When you do bookish posts I start swooning :) I prefer real books but buy as much in ebook as possible because they take less room.

  6. The bookmark is great! I only buy real books... I've mostly stopped buying new ones though. If I set about re-reading all the ones I have, it would have to take 10-15 years.

  7. Love that bookmark. TW doesn't like ebooks or newspapers cos her eyes are dry and she doesn't blink while reading which leads to trouble. She's old.

  8. We love that bookmark! I, too, like reading physical books, but it's a space issue ... we just don't have enough room for more books. So I read e-books unless it is one of my most favorite authors. :)
