The Key to Caturday Art

If you read our Thoroughly Poetic Thursday poem, you might remember Laila the Librarian. Did you know, though, that Laila didn't start out as a librarian? While she ultimately found her calling as a librarian, she first tested the waters of an entirely different line of work.

That's right, Laila first tried her hand paw at being a locksmith! She gave it a shot, but she had a change of heart and later went on to become a librarian.

In all honesty, this here human indeed had Laila all lined up to be a locksmith this past Thursday for the fun weekly poetry challenge. Then, though, I realized that librarian indeed begins with L, and so plans simply had to change. We love us some books over here, so that settled that. We thought we'd share Laila's locksmith illustration for today's Caturday Art blog hop, though, so that you could all see Laila's original career plans.

I figured this little doodle went well with one of my favorites quotes as well, so then I added a couple of words to spruce it up a bit.

Do any of friends have any favorite inspirational quotes they want to share? Of course, favorite quotes about kitties and pups are more than welcome, too!

Now, do be sure to visit Athena to see the artistry of all of our furiends!

Happy Caturday to all!

Our Tip of the Day:
Beware of seasonal dangers while on walks with pups or kitties. In the autumn, this can mean acorns, which not only pose risks such as choking or obstruction, but which can also lead to further complications of the gastrointestinal tract or kidneys. Even eating fallen leaves could pose a risk, such as if they are harboring any mold that might upset the gastrointestinal tract. Also be careful of other typical dangers, such as sticks that have fallen from the trees as they prepare for winter, as these can also cause choking as well as obstruction or perforation of the bowels. Of course, being cautious for such things is a year-round duty, but do be aware of the different additional risks that come with each season.

That is such a true saying. And the drawing is perfect too. That Laila is a lovely kitty kat. You all have a great day.

"To thine own self be true" is my favorite quote to live by. Many of us take years to learn this lesson and some never do, but it is the only honest way to lead a comfortable, rewarding life ... We have many acorns in the neighborhood because we have many magnificent old Oaks. Thankfully, none of my pets have taken any interest in them so far ... but good to be reminded to be on the lookout :)

This might be our favorite drawing ever! Lil Autumn used to love to bat around the acorns that the peeps used to bring in for her. Meh!

Adorable drawing and extra good quote. One of Mom's favorite quotes is a bit long: "Hope is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul - and sings the tunes without the words - and never stops at all." Emily Dickinson Why this is a favorite is a long story but involves a friend who passed away in 1997.
