Mancat Monday and the Letter J

It's Mancat Monday, and Evan is spending it basking in the sun.


As a ginger, Evan is also glad that today's doodle for the April A to Z Challenge involves his favorite color of orange. After all, for our alphabetic theme of halfway to Halloween, or Halfoween, we decided that today's letter J stands for jack-o'-lantern.


For the letter C we shared a cat-o'-lantern or two, and so for the letter J we thought we'd go the more classic route with jack-o'-lantern. Because there's nothing weird about that in April, obviously.

Trivia of the Day

Did you know that cats and dogs get little to no vitamin D from the sun? While humans can synthesize vitamin D as a result of exposure to sunlight, cats' and dogs' bodies do not work this way. Rather, our kitties and pups must get vitamin D from their diet. This is just one of the reasons why it's important to feed your furbaby a diet formulated specifically for their species.

    Cuteness! We love sunbathing but had never thought about the vitamin D. We do try to eat healthy foods though.

    We may not get Vitamin D from sunpuddles, but they sure warm us up. Our foods has that though, so all is good.
