Today, I'm grateful that both Thimble and Tonks did great during their dental surgeries yesterday. Going in, we thought Thimble would be losing 2 teeth and that Tonks was just getting a more thorough dental exam and cleaning. Turns out, Thimble lost 5 teeth total, and Tonks lost 4 teeth. All of these teeth were extracted because of resportive lesions, most of which were not visible during their basic exam a few weeks ago. These lesions usually affect the pre-molars and molars, and while each girl did lose at least one of those yesterday, Thimble also lost 2 canine teeth and Tonks lost 3 of her canines. In the bottom of her mouth, Thimble now only has her tiny little front incisors.
The above said, both girls are honestly doing really well, I'm sure in part thanks to their heavy pain meds. For the record, though, Thimble would like everyone to know that car rides are the worst.
Though, Thimble was at least glad that her afternoon car ride landed her at home.
Thimble had a much harder time than Tonks coming to terms with her loss of teeth. When she first got home, Thimble just kept smacking and licking and rubbing at her poor face. Again, the poor girl has nothing but incisors on the bottom of her mouth now, so I'm sure it feels some sort of strange.
Tonks, on the other hand, came home and immediately wanted food. She was still a bit high from the anesthesia, and I first could only give her a little bit of food to make sure she didn't vomit. She kept the food down, though, and throughout the night ate nearly 2 whole cans of food, which is incredibly rare for this picky little lady.
Even though Tonks did indeed lose 3 canine teeth, she wasn't nearly as worried about her teeth as Thimble. Really, the only thing Tonks seemed bothered by was where her front leg was shaved for her IV catheter.
Those photos are all obviously blooper-ish, but I just wanted to get some candid shots of the girls after their big day. And I'm just glad both girls did great and are home and recovering well.
Thank you to everyone who has sent Thimble and Tonks purrs and prayers these past few days! It certainly helped, and both girls are doing great this morning.

Not So Spooky Doodles of the Day
There's a some story behind the characters in today's new Halloween doodle, including the rogue cat paw up front there. You'll get a bit more of these characters in tomorrow's post, and I'll try to give a tiny explanation then for what you're seeing.

Tip of the Day
Our past two Halloween tips were about potential hazards of Halloween decorations. Wreaths, garland, and festive trinkets can pose dangers, as can candles in or out of jack-o'-lanterns. And, of course, don't forget cords for strands of lights or other decor. Relating to these previous decor tips, today we're talking about ways you can keep your furbaby safe while also getting festive.
First, of course, keep any and all potentially hazardous items high off of the ground, or out of the reach of your furbaby in any other way necessary. In addition to this, you can tape down or tuck away cords to lights or other decor. There are even pet-safe and child-safe cord covers, under which cords can be tucked away from curious paws. But, what about when it comes to candles? Aside from refraining from burning them, or keeping them out of reach or in a room away from your furbaby, you can try battery-operated or other similar artificial candles. You can use safer option in festive candle holders, or even to light your jack-o'-lanterns. Of course, though, do keep in mind that batteries and plastic parts and pieces can also pose their own risks to furbabies. So, while fake candles might not burn your furbaby, it is still wise to keep an eye on your furbaby around such items, especially if your kitty or pup is a chewer.

Poor girls- that was a lot of teeth to lose. Tell them the Tooth Fairy will be mailing out their gifts tomorrow. Nice drawing and great tips. XO
