Friendly Fill-Ins and a Rare Sighting of Eddy and Astrid

I want to again thank you all for the continued kind words and condolences after the loss of my sweet Astrid. Thank you all. I miss my girl Astrid so much, but I'll love her forever and I will never forget her.

And, of course, thank you so much to Ann of Zoolatry for this memorial image of my perfect pup.

This means so much to me. I'll be adding this beautiful image to my blog sidebar, right there with the memorial badge Ann created for my Rosie 10 years ago. My angels will always be part of our blog.

Now, I am still co-hosting and partaking in today's Friendly Fill-Ins challenge, and we'd love for you to join us. My amazing co-host Ellen of 15andmeowing came up with the first two fill-in statements, and I came up with the second two.

1. Eating _________ makes me _________.

2. I don't mind paying extra for _________.

3. _________ was the best part of my summer.

4. I can't wait to _________ this autumn.

My answers are below in bold.

1. Eating gluten or lactose makes me feel a bit miserable.
(I won't go into detail. The short story is that I'm intolerant to both gluten and lactose. I didn't use to be, though. I had a treatable intestinal issue nearly a decade ago, and even after it was resolved, I was left permanently intolerant to gluten and dairy.)

2. I don't mind paying extra for my furry babies' care.
(My furry babies are often my most costly expense each month, or at least one of them. This is in no small part because of all the medications and other treatments my boy Evan receives, and the medicines my sweet girl Astrid was on. That said, I don't mind this fact one bit. I budget and spend very little on most other aspects of my life because my furry babies will always be my priority.)

3. Spending time with Astrid was the best part of my summer.
(Astrid did have good and not so good days this summer. Most of July was actually especially great for her, though, and that month she acted very much like her old self. We had some sweet little walks, enjoyed fun times in the back yard, and she also enjoyed indulging in chicken while I worked in the kitchen and all that wonderfulness. I will cherish all the days I had with her, from this summer and every day she blessed my life.)

4. I can't wait to get into the Halloween spirit this autumn.
(I'm usually in the Halloween spirit by now. I think I'm in the spirit a tad bit, in the back of my mind, but things have been rough with the decline and loss of my sweet Astrid. Putting up my Halloween decor on Labor Day and watching Halloween movies hasn't helped much. I have some artsy Halloweenish pieces that I'll be making in Astrid's honor, so I'm hoping that'll help. Once I finish creating those Halloween arts and crafts in memory of my pup, I'll share them here.)

Friday is usually the day on our blog that stars Eddy. Like yesterday, though, I also wanted to include my sweet girl Astrid. I don't have many pictures of Eddy and Astrid together, as Eddy isn't fond of a whole lot of other animals. What's more, she always seemed to enjoy chasing Astrid, and Astrid knew Eddy would use claws, so she always skedaddled when Eddy was in view.

All that to say, I knew I had at least a couple of photos of Eddy and Astrid coexisting in the window, and I found some of those. So, here are very young Eddy and Astrid enjoying some window whiffies together all the way back in March of 2016.

As I mentioned in yesterday's post, I will now be taking a short blogging break until next Wednesday. On that day, I'll share a full memorial post for my angel Astrid.

Thank you all again for your kindness and comfort after the loss of my dear Astrid.
