Thimble Thursday

We've been having some lovely weather as of late. As you've been seeing in this week's posts, it's even been lovely enough for the occasional open window, which the furbabies love. The thing is, though, that I can be a bit of a Nervous Nellie, and I always get these terrifying images in my head of my indoor furbabies busting through window screens and getting lost in the great outdoors.

So, I always start out by opening the windows just a crack...

"Are you serious, Mom?"

...and the furbabies, most especially Thimble, are never impressed.

Desperation at its finest.

Needless to say, the utterly pathetic display in the above image prompted me to open the windows farther, much to Thimble's satisfaction.

"That's a good girl, Mom."

The furbabies were, of course, perfect little angels, and not a single one of them tried to bust out a screen and escape.

We hope you all have a wonderful Thursday! Hang in there - it's almost Friday!

Our Tip of the Day:
Fertilizer, such as that for grass and gardens, can be toxic to dogs and cats. For this reason, try not to let your dogs or cats feast on grass or garden specimens, especially from yards or parks with which you're not familiar. Even if you know your grass or garden has not been treated with any chemicals, others in the neighborhood could have been. To further help prevent any inadvertent contact with or ingestion of fertilizer or other chemicals, try to always wipe off or remove your shoes after taking a walk through any unfamiliar yards, parks, or gardens. Also consider wiping off the paws of your furbabies that take strolls outside.

They sure do enjoy those open windows. I get nervous to leaving the windows open here but our screens are in terrible shape, so I can't open the windows. Thimble, you look like you are so enjoying that fresh air.

Thimble looked so cute trying to get the fresh air through the small crack in the window.

My Angel Tara fell out the screen window 5 weeks after I adopted her. It happened in the middle of the night and I woke up to find the screen laying in the back yard and her gone. My brilliant little girl was waiting for me in the bushes though.

I am the same Nervous Nellie! We don't open the windows much because of spring pollens my husband and I are allergic to. (Of course, we're allergic to cats too, but so what? LOL) But when we do, it's just a little bit and just for a little while.

Our weather hasn't been quite warm enough to have window whiffies yet. M said she'd freeze if she opened the window as the temp is only about 50. One of these days tho they will get opened and I'll LOVE it.

They have screens that you can get that cannot be pushed OUT. When we had our windows replaced we got them. Now, I think claws can still scratch them though, but I am not sure. I love the warmer weather and so does Cody, but as soon as we open the windows he starts an allergy flare-up. i looked at his head tonight (by his ear) and I think I see a hot spot starting........UGH. If so, he will have to go on Pred tomorrow! catchatwithcarenandcody
