Thimble Thursday: A Dash of Ornery

Thimble wanted to show off one of her close-ups today.

But, this close-up is more than meets the eye. Although Thimble might tell a different story, this close-up is proof of her ornery side. And how is that? Well, look in the bottom right corner of the picture. Little Thimble has something in her paws there...

Well, would you look at that. It's the wrist strap to her mommy's camera. And you know what? Thimble is a repeat offender. This little lady cat has made it a habit to lure her mommy in for a close-up...and then snatch up that camera wrist strap. Clever girl.

Some of you who have been reading our blog for a while might remember previous battles of kitty vs. camera wrist strap. These battles have been waging ever since Thimble and her brothers, who also partake in this war, were just kittens.

Poor camera wrist strap. It sure shows its many battle wounds, the poor frayed thing.

Mmmmm. Looks tasty, Thimble. What, exactly, does frayed cloth taste like, little lady?

I guess Thimble won this battle. Who am I kidding? She's won them all. The poor camera wrist strap never stood a chance in the first place.

Mug shot?

Happy Thursday, everybuddy! It's almost Friday!

Our Tip of the Day:
There are many precautions that you can take to pet-proof the various rooms in your home. For example, in the kitchen, there's the simple yet important precaution of keeping twist ties tucked safely away in a drawer. There's also of course the potential kitchen danger of knives, which you can make a habit of keeping off of the counter, especially when unattended. If you have counter-climbing kitties, it's of course advisable to take further precautions, such as keeping knives out of the drainer and sink as well, and using only back burners if your kitchen is set up in a way that this could prevent burnt paws. Taking it even a step further, you could have baby gates handy to keep furbabies out of the kitchen while you're cooking, such as if you have especially paws-on helpers. As I'm sure we all know, our furbabies can be sneaky little things and can get themselves into trouble if we're not careful, so always try to think one step ahead of them in terms of home safety.

We are very sneaky and with an open floor plan Mommy doesn't have a prayer of keeping us out of the kitchen. She gets lots of exercise chasing us with a spray bottle of water.

Oh Thimble, we would sure grab that wrist strap in a skinny minute. That was just made for grabbing. Good girl Thimble.

We've had some good camera strap battles, too. So far it's been a draw.

Hooray for Thimble! Thimble: 582 Camera Strap: 0
You look quite smug in your mug shot. I can see how your mommy was lured in. These are such adorable pictures of you!

We play with Mom's lens cover that dangles from an elastic off the camera - fun.

Thimble is a cutie. That camera strap has seen better days :) Great kitchen tip, the biggest problem in our kitchen is trash picking if there is any kind of meat in there or bones so we try to get that right outside to the trash bin.

Well, if people will leave things lying around, they are fair game! You're very beautiful, Thimble, even if you are a little naughty. From That's Purrfect

Good work, Thimble! I mean, uh, maybe you shouldn't chew on mommy's camera strap. :-) By the way, you look awfully pretty even if you are ornery.
