Friendly Fill-Ins

Happy Friday! Let's celebrate this day by filling in the Friendly Fill-Ins, shall we? Feel free to join in on the fun! My co-host Ellen of 15andmeowing came up with the first two fill-in statements, and I came up with the second two.

1. Lately, I've been _________.

2. I find _________ fascinating.

3. If I had known _________, I would have _________.

4. I can't help but _________ when I'm nervous.

My answers are below in bold. They're all about the furbabies this week.

1. Lately, I've been doing lots of laundry.
(As I've mentioned before, my boy Evan has some urinary incontinence. Sometimes he'll go weeks without any accidents, but then sometimes he does it every day, sometimes more than once a day. Right now he's in one of his heavily incontinent spells. That's totally fine, it just means some extra laundry. I can live with that. My mom and I are still working on crafting up some especially heavy duty leak resistant blankets. We have lots of ideas and plans for them, we just haven't made them yet.)

2. I find Evan's ability to adapt fascinating.
(Evan has been paralyzed in the hind legs since he was 6 weeks old. He is now 8 years old, and he is such a determined, unbothered little guy. He has learned how to do what he wants to do, even if it's in his own special way. And if he needs help doing it, he'll let me know. He doesn't need my help with all that much, though, because he's an amazing little guy.)

3. If I had known more about pup Astrid when I adopted her, I would have named her Cricket.
(It wasn't until a few weeks or months after I adopted Astrid that I learned how much she enjoyed pouncing crickets on the ground. When she sees or hears one, she'll do one of those hopping pounces you see foxes do. It's quite adorable. Poor crickets, though. I also didn't know just how much she loves jumping, kind of like a cricket, until a couple of weeks into knowing her. Now knowing all that, I often wish I had named her Cricket.)

4. I can't help but cuddle a kitty when I'm nervous.
(If I'm nervous and have access to a kitty, I will cuddle them. Nothing is more soothing and anxiety-reducing than a cat.)

Tip of the Day

Does your kitty or pup ever urinate on your furniture? Do they ever vomit on it? Or even just drool on it? There are indeed furniture covers and blankets on the market that are advertised as leak resistant. Some of these do work quite well, though they of course may not protect furniture from an entire bladder worth of urine, for example. But, if you are looking to protect your furniture from urine, vomit, drool, and the like, you can indeed do some research and searching and find blankets or covers that are meant to at least help protect your furniture. They may not be perfect, but they can help defend against basic accidents.

Snuggling kitties is a wonderful pastime, for a specific reason, or just because! Even Sweetie deigns to be snuggled, but she'll give me a few scratches before I can tuck her legs in enough so I'm no longer in danger from those murder mitts.

Great answers. Evan is amazing and well worth extra laundry. Cats are very soothing. Cute drawing and Eddy is adorable. Excellent tips too. I have a waterproof mattress cover on the couch then I top it with a sheet to be safe. I only remove it when expecting company which thanks to COVID has not bee often lately- and I don't mind. Have a wonderful weekend. XO

Your doodles are always so fun and enjoyable. I'm sorry we haven't visited much lately. All I can say is- that last sentence to your #4 answer says it all. Done deal. End of story. 'nuff said.

I finally managed to take part in Friendly Fill-Ins! We've been eyeing this meme for a couple of weeks, but just didn't get time to do it.

Your blog is lovely and me and Elza will definitely spend some time here browsing through all things cat. No better comfort than that of a furball.

Hope you are having a good weekend!

Love my fix of Eddy!
I had a Twitter pal who was hind paralyzed. He wore a diaper or man pants as we called them and they worked quite well.
