Thankful Thimble Thursday

I said that today we'd be sharing a holiday mashup poem for Angel Sammy's Thoroughly Poetic Thursday challenge, and that it would be paired with the first doodle in our new series of holiday mashup drawings. For a very silly reason, though, I'm going to push our poem and its illustration back to tomorrow. The silly reason is that I forgot about a new autumnal doodle I haven't shared yet. Though I usually like drawing autumnal doodles far into November, this year holiday mashups and Christmas doodles are calling to me. So, I want to share this last autumnal doodle before I start sharing holiday mashup doodles and Christmas doodles. I told you it was a silly reason, but this is how my brain works. So, we'll be back tomorrow for rhyme time.

As for this post, how about Brian's Thankful Thursday Blog Hop?

What is Thimble thankful for today? As she's shown off many times in the past, she's grateful for the books in our little home library, even when this human lets the bookshelf turn into a bit of a mess. Thimble's allowed to mess up the bottom shelf by rubbing every book she can reach, but this here human has really messed up the upper shelves, and what a shame Thimble finds that to be.

Don't worry, Thimble. I'll organize the bookshelf soon. And then it will be a mess again within a week, but we'll just pretend we don't know that.

Now, let's share the fill-in statements for tomorrow's Friendly Fill-Ins challenge. My co-host Ellen of 15andmeowing came up with the first two fill-in statements, and I came up with the second two.

1. I have a _________ on my _________.

2. I wish I could speak fluent _________.

3. I wonder what would happen if _________.

4. If I want _________, I'm going to have to _________.

We'll see you tomorrow, friends!

Doodle of the Day

As we mentioned above, our new doodle for today is potentially our last distinctly autumnal one. Our other upcoming doodles also have some autumnal vibes, but also Christmas vibes, because I'm already feeling that level of festive. Anyway, it's fortunate that Thimble shared a glimpse of her beloved library today, because today's doodle also stars some books.

Tip of the Day

We're still in the midst of our National Pet Diabetes Awareness Month tips. On this topic, yesterday we discussed observing your furbaby and knowing visible signs of illness. In addition to this, if your furbaby has been diagnosed with diabetes, consider monitoring their blood glucose at home. This is of course not always an option, depending on the furbaby and the situation. But, if it is possible, do discuss this with your veterinarian. Your veterinarian can help you learn how to safely check your kitty or pup’s glucose at home, which can be done simply by using a vein in your kitty or pup's ear and the same type of glucometer a human would use. If nothing else, it is of course advisable to take a diabetic furbaby to the vet for regular glucose and/or fructosamine checks, as well as frequent urinalyses, especially in the early stages of their diabetes treatment.

My aunt had a Pekinese who had diabetes. Quite tricky to take care of them.

I so love your doodles! They are very creative. Are you on Instagram?

Have a wonderful weekend!

Bookshelves are supposed to be a bit messy; that means you are using it!
