Mancat Monday: Sun Bathing

If I let him, Evan would set up shop at our front door and never leave. He loves that door. He sits there to keep guard over the house, to watch the wildlife outside, to chase bugs, to chase lights, to wait for his mom to come home from work. He even sits there to bathe (the boy has no shame).

According to Evan, bathing in the sun is the best of the best.

Evan wishes all of our furiends a wonderful Monday! He hopes you all get lots of sun baths in today!

Our Tip of the Day:
I'm sure all cat parents out there know that grooming is a very important task to kitties, and they spend a good chunk of their time preening. This is why grooming habits can be a great indicator of a kitty's health and well-being. If your kitty is usually a frequent groomer, but you notice that your kitty has stopped or decreased his or her bathing habits, this can be a good indication that something is off kilter. Any number of ailments, such as injury or pain, arthritis, kidney disease, diabetes, and cancer, can spur a kitty to spend more time resting and less time grooming. On the other hand, increased grooming can also mean that something is not quite right with kitty. If your kitty suddenly starts licking or otherwise grooming themselves more than they used to, that could potentially indicate ailments such as allergies, fleas, irritation or pain (such as from a urinary tract infection, especially if the grooming is primarily targeted on the abdomen), and even anxiety. Kitties know the importance of self-image, so always keep an eye on their grooming habits. If you are concerned about a change in your kitty's grooming habits, be sure to consult your veterinarian.

That is so smart of you Evan to hang out by the door which means you will know when anything is happening. Nothing better than a good bath in the sun. Have a great day.

Doors are great! It's too hot here for the door to be open, but boy oh boy when it cools off, you know we'll be doing the same! Bathing in the door isn't for the shy, that's for sure!

Evan knows his stuff when it comes to sun puddles and grooming. TW knows I'm not feeling well and my asthma is flaring when I start over-grooming my paws and arms. Last night she thought I was going to make myself bald.

Evan, with those great sunpuddles, it seems like "by the door" is the best spot in the house! Happy Monday, friends!
