Fill-Ins and Friday Festivities

Happy Friday, friends! As always, we'll just get right into the Friendly Fill-Ins challenge, which is of course hosted by Ellen of 15andmeowing and Annie of McGuffy's Reader.

This week, our hosts came up with some fill-ins that really got me thinking.

1. When I am nervous, I _________.
2. When I am angry, I _________.
3. Today, I know for sure _________.
4. For St. Patrick's Day, I _________.

I think I learned a little more about myself while working on filling in these profound thoughts.

1. When I am nervous, I take deep breaths to calm myself.
(This may sound cliché, but it actually works pretty well for me. My life is usually pretty calm, so I don't often get terribly nervous. That is, unless I am worried about my furbabies or family members. Or, of course, when I am forced into a highly social situation. That's when the deep breaths really come into play.)

2. When I am angry, I cure it with a kitty fix.
(Anger is an emotion I do not enjoy, nor that I think is healthy, and so I always do my best to avoid it. If I do catch myself feeling angry, though, I'll remedy it by cuddling some kitties or even just looking at kitty pictures. Best. Medicine. Ever.)

3. Today, I know for sure that I am happy.
(While life is never perfect, I am surrounded by my furbabies, my human family, and this wonderful blogging community. Nothing makes me happier than that.)

4. For St. Patrick's Day, I feast on Dublin Coddle.
(Though I don't look the part, I actually have some Irish blood running through my veins, which always makes me feel compelled to celebrate the day with a little Irish-inspired grub. Let's be honest, though, I'm not a corned beef and cabbage kind of gal. That's why, a couple years ago, I looked up some alternatives. I found a recipe for Dublin Coddle, which is much more my speed, and now I have that every St. Patrick's Day.)

Now, on to your weekly Eddy fix! Eddy actually decided to share a couple of bloopers with you all today.

Eddy is our the queen of bloopers around this house. Are any of our friends out there blooper pros?

Wishing you all a lovely day!

Our Tip of the Day:
Yesterday's National Pet Poison Awareness Month tip was about coins, namely the potential for them to cause zinc toxicity. Today's tip is another one about potentially dangerous metals, this one being iron. Iron can of course be found in various multivitamins, or simply iron supplements. That's not the only potential source of iron, though, as it can also be found in items such as fertilizers, hand warmers, and oxygen absorbers (such as those often found in packets of food such as beef jerky).

Ingestion of toxic amounts of iron can result in a variety of symptoms. For example, iron poisoning may cause vomiting, diarrhea, bloody stool, lethargy, and even negative effects on organs such as the heart or liver. Needless to say, be aware of what items in your household might contain iron, or any potentially dangerous substance. And, of course, keep all such items well out of reach of your furbaby. Never leave your vitamins or other medications, or any questionable items, sitting around for a curious furbaby to find. If your furbaby does get into such items and ingests them, though, then do of course seek veterinary assistance.

Great answers to the fill-ins! I use cats to cure nervousness, anger...anything unpleasant. I follow so many cats on social media, I know I can always get an instant kitty fix. Those are fun bloopers too!

Oh the kitty fix one is an excellent idea. How can you be angry with a kitty around.

Great answers.

Have a fabulous day and weekend. ♥

Good fill-ins! Our Mom should remember the deep breathing trick, though she always remembers the snuggling method. Your blooper photos are very good, and Eddy, we didn't think you looked like a blooper at all in either of them!

Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. I agree that kitties are the best medicine. Very cute drawing, jigsaw planet is having a contest for St. Patrick's Day themed puzzles, you should upload the drawing, it would make a great puzzle. Eddy is such a cutie, she looks like she is laughing at you in the first photo :) And excellent tip too. Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy your St. Patrick's Day Dublin Coddle. I looked that up the other day and it sounds good.XO

Thanks for that tip today. Mom learned something. We think bloopers and outtakes make for some of the best photos, especially in anipals. Eddy looks adorable. Mom is half Irish and loves corn beef and cabbage. She needs to look up Coddle. She's never heard of it. Eddy, the pictures of your awesome self always make our Friday! It's interesting ... when I'm angry, that's about the only time I withdraw from my cats. Then again, when I'm angry, I can't sit still - so it's kind of hard to provide a lap.

I love your answers! I need to remember your wise thoughts for #2 the next time I start to get angry. Although usually anger strikes when I'm away from home and there are no cats around! LOL

The mom is off to google Dublin Coddle and find out what it is. :)

Great answers! TW is always nervous and angry too for that matter. I think maybe she gets angry when she's nervous. Faith used to love to play with pennies. Oh sorry I haven't been around much. Been working on some stuff.

Such a cute doodle! Anger has it's place, but we need to control ourselves too. Sometimes, I think that I get sadness and mad mixed up.
