Fill-Ins and a Tiger's Eyes

Happy Friday, everybuddy! Today, as always, we are happily participating in the Friendly Fill-Ins challenge, hosted by the amazing 15andmeowing and McGuffy's Reader.

Our hosts certainly never disappoint! Here are this week's fantastic fill-ins:

1. My favorite herb or spice is _________.
2. An herb/spice I dislike is _________.
3. Lately, I have been working on _________.
4. This winter was _________.

And here's how I worked my way through them:

1. My favorite herb or spice is oregano.
(Oregano and basil are probably my two favorite herbs to use when cooking, but I think oregano takes the lead.)

2. An herb/spice I dislike is cayenne pepper.
(Honestly, I don't like anything spicy. I've just never had a palate for that bites back.)

3. Lately, I have been working on fulfilling some longtime goals.
(For a long time, I have wanted to expand my lifelong passions of art, writing, and of course animal welfare. I especially like to intermix these all together, and in the past have even managed to use art to raise a bit of money for shelters and rescues and the like. Then, though, I started letting work and other commitments get in the way and turn into excuses. But, now I am working to remedy that. If I can truly get my act together, I will be adding more art to my online shop I created a couple years ago with the hopes of raising some funds for various shelters and rescues. I also hope to be able to fulfill a lifelong dream to write and illustrate stories or books for the same cause. Sometimes these goals seem so very intimidating and impossible, but then I remind myself that it's no use quitting before you even try!)

4. This winter was a rollercoaster.
(I feel like Mother Nature wakes up every morning and just spins a wheel to see what's going to happen that day. It's weird how all over the place this winter was here, from cold to hot, dry to humid, snowing to thundering, sometimes all in the same day.)

Okay, now, who's ready for Eddy? If you are, you're in luck. She not only recently sat still for more than half a second, but I was able to sneak up and zoom in on her lovely eyes for you to see!

Call me a doting momma, but I have always loved the color of Eddy's eyes. They're the most gorgeous aquamarine, and these photos really don't do them justice.

Peek-a-boo!

What color eyes do all of our furiends have?

Oh, and today's doodle is inspired by the fact that, ever since she was a kitten, Eddy has always slightly resembled a fox. At least, that's what this silly mom of hers thinks. With her adorably pointed face, her stay-as-low-to-the-ground-as-you-possibly-can belly scoot when stalking or scared, and her serious agility, she's my foxy little lady cat.

Wishing everybuddy a beautiful day!

Our Tip of the Day:
Don't forget that you don't have to make a monetary donation to make a difference to animals in shelters. Something as simple as donating gently used or clean toys, beds, and blankets that your furbaby ignores or no longer uses can make a world of difference to animals awaiting their forever homes. The same goes for cat trees, carriers, and perhaps even litter boxes. Or, does your furbaby not like some of the newest moist food or treats you purchased? Donate them! Donations such as these allow shelters to focus their funds on the animals' medical needs and advertising for successful adoptions. So, never feel like you are unable to help animals in need. All it takes is looking around and noticing an unwanted toy, untouched bedding, or rejected cans of food, all items that could make a shelter animal's day.

I love Oregano too. Eddy, that was so nice of you to sit still for a second, so the Mom could take some great pictures of you. Eddy, you are looking mighty good. You all have a wonderful day.

I am so glad Eddy cooperated so we could get a look at those gorgeous green eyes. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. I like oregano and basil too, we grow it and dry it every Summer. I am happy to read you are working on your dreams, you are so talented with drawing and writing. I am sure you will succeed in anything you do. Excellent tip too. Have a nice weekend!

Oregano (and Basil) are favorites of mine, too!

Ohhhhh! Eddy has such gorgeous eyes! I love cat eyes - our 4 kitties all have different beautiful eyes. Charlie takes the cake with her pale blue-green ones, though. :)

Love the doodle! Have a great weekend!

Wow. Eddy's eyes are absolutely stunning. Fantastic job, Mom! Bear's green eyes are the first thing I noticed about him ... like Eddy's, you can read so much in them!

I am always amazed at how much we think alike. I do like spicy dishes, though. But #3...wow...I do not have your visual artistic talent, but I do love to write. I take pictures just for fun. But the rescue work is my heart. I do most of it silently. I try to draw attention to the need, rather than what I do. Bless you for what you are doing. That is awesome! I want Summer to be as mild as Winter was! Eddy, I love those eyes! HUGS!!

We wish you all the success in the world on #3 and have complete faith that you'll accomplish your goals! And yes, Eddy's eyes are amazing :)

Wow, I've never seen Eddy like this! I never knew her eyes were so green.

It's funny. I was going to initially say basil or oregano for question one but then opted for cinnamon. I love basil and oregano in spaghetti and other things. I wish you the best with number three. Trout Towne makes a good point. Maybe you should put a link to your shop on your blog. Just a thought.

That's some good shots of Eddy. Whenever I think about oregano, I remember the Andy Griffith show where Andy got three spaghetti suppers. Each one had oregano as a secret ingredient.

I love your answer for #4. :)

Those photos of Eddy are beautiful! What pretty eyes she has.

Have a blessed weekend.

Gorgeous shots of Eddy's eyes! Mine were amber when I came here but are green now. TW is with you on spicy food and those Italian spices.
