Friendly Fill-Ins

We'd like to begin this post by sending our most heartfelt purrs, woofs, and prayers to Ellen of 15andmeowing. Her dear cat Prancie gained her angel wings on Wednesday.

Please visit Ellen to let her know that you're thinking of her. She has said goodbye to so many kitties in the past few months, and our hearts go out to her.

Ellen is my co-host for the Friendly Fill-Ins, but she understandably will not be participating today. If you would like to participate in this week's Friendly Fill-Ins, I will share the fill-in statements and other information below.

1. When I am _________ I __________.

2. I want to _________ for _________.

3. No one knows me better than _________.

4. _________ is a thought that crosses my mind often.

My filled in fill-ins are below. I made them all about the furbabies this week.

1. When I am home with my furbabies, I am happy.
(I'm a major homebody. At any given moment, I'd rather be home than anywhere else. This of course has a lot to do with the the fact that my furbabies are at my home, so that's obviously where I want to be.)

2. I want to provide the best life possible for my furbabies.
(I'm sure most of you know exactly what I mean here. Have you heard that saying that goes something like, "I work hard so that my cat can have a better life."? That pretty much sums up my life, and I'm honestly fine with that.)

3. No one knows me better than my furbabies.
(I'm generally a very private person, and I'm really not one to share every detail of my life, not even with my closest family members. That being said, my furbabies probably know me very, very well. I don't hide anything from them. I talk to them all the time about anything and everything. They also follow me everywhere when I'm at my happy place that is my home. If they ever cared to share, my kitties and pup could very likely tell you my deepest, darkest secrets.)

4. My furbabies' health and happiness is a thought that crosses my mind often.
(My kitties and pup are constantly on my mind. I want so badly for them to be healthy and happy, and thoughts on ensuring this are constantly

Your Eddy fix today comes in the form of photos with outrageous lighting. They were taken when Eddy was helping me do art the other night, and she was illuminated only by my ridiculously bright art lamp.

Want to see some of Eddy's pearly whites? Yes?

Eddy and all of us here wish you a fantastic Friday!

Flashback Doodle of the Day

Today's flashback doodle goes along the other flashback doodle we shared this week. It's all about Evan and snow.

Our Tip of the Day:

Today's tip on caring for ferals and other outdoor cats is to perhaps consider offering them toys, such as inside a shelter you've set up for them. Cats are cats, and even feral cats often have a healthy instinct to play. Pick toys that will not scare them, and toys that will not make them fear being heard by predators. For example, perhaps avoid toys that jingle, squeak, or that make other loud noises. What's more, when picking out toys for them, also pick those that can be easily cleaned. Pick toys that are plastic and can be soaked and washed if dirty, or toys made of fabric that is able to be easily and thoroughly washed. Even ferals and other outdoor cats often have a desire to play, so perhaps do consider offering them toys that safely allow them to do so.

I just knew your fill-ins would be about your furbabies today - you are lucky to have them and they are even MORE lucky to have you! We are quite sad about Prancie and feel just awful that Ellen is going through another loss so soon after the last.

Hugs, Pam and Teddy too

Lorraine,

I was saddened to learn of Prancie crossing the Rainbow Bridge on Wednesday. Ellen is in my heart & prayers. My #4 is about my children, too. Regardless if your children are pets or human the love for them is strong and you want nothing but the best for them. Thanks for sharing your fillins and artwork! Have a good weekend!

Our family, fur and otherwise, are our biggest concern. Even if you think the lighting is wrong, Eddy is just right, and so is your fun doodle.

My thoughts go out to Miss Ellen. She's dealt with so much grief.
TW was never a homebody until she reached her late 40s when as she put it, she became an old stick-in-the-mud.. She can't imagine a young person not wanting to roam. Of course now she wouldn't dream of leaving me.

We furs are the biggest part of everything here at Casa Tomcat and we like it that way. We are sending purrs and prayers to our friends at 15 and Meowing

Right now, I focus a lot on our Angel, giving her the very best life we can. I dislike giving her shots, but Sue from The Island Cats assures me that I'll be a pro at giving them in no time.

Great fill-ins, most of my answers would have been the same. Thank you for paying tribute to my sweet Prancie. Eddy is a cutie. And Eddy is adorable. I like the drawing and the tips too. I never thought if ferals as playing with toys, but I bet they would love them. XO

The mom says we are first and foremost on her mind too. That is a sign of a good pet parent. We are sad about Prancie and send Miss Ellen many comforting purrs.
