Friendly Fill-Ins

Happy Friday! We're ready for the Friendly Fill-Ins challenge. Are you? If you'd like to join in but missed the fill-in statements yesterday, we'll share them again here. Ellen of 15andmeowing came up with the first two, and I came up with the second two.

1. _________ was a very good year.

2. Whenever I _________, I _________.

3. I look forward to _________ this time of year.

4. _________ creeps me out.

My answers are below in bold.

1. 1993 was a very good year.
(It's feels a bit weird to put a year in which I was only 4 years old, but it's for a good reason. In 1993, my feline angels Rosie and Sammy were born and adopted by my family. Prior to my parents adopting Rosie and Sammy, my first pets as a young child were fish and birds. While I really enjoyed my scaled and feathered friends, even as a toddler I craved friends of a larger, more furry, and somewhat more interactive nature. Rosie and Sammy were indeed the first furry friends I had as a kid. And they were wonderful friends and amazing confidants for my childhood self. I will always love them for all that they offered and taught me. Needless to say, I have loved cats ever since.)

2. Whenever I want a kitty to willingly participate in cuddles, I find Thimble.
(Thimble is my kitty most willing to cuddle, and the most willing to reciprocate the cuddles. Tonks is a close second. Evan and Eddy are not opposed to cuddles, but they have a bit less tolerance for my desire to hug and squeeze them. Thimble, though, is all about the snuggle life. Her cuddles are very active, though, so I never expect to take a nap or get any semblance of rest when she's rolling and flopping all over me.)

3. I look forward to Halloween this time of year.
(I know not everyone enjoys Halloween, but I love it. In addition to that, this time of year I also simply love the autumn weather, and of course the beautiful leaves as they change colors. Needless to say, autumn is my favorite season, and there isn't much about it that I don't like. Except the allergies. The allergies this time of year are killer, but we'll just ignore that.)

4. Anything and everything arachnid creeps me out.
(Spiders creep me out to no end. I don't like to be near them, I don't like to look at them, I don't like to touch them, and on more than one occasion I have had to recruit my mom's help in removing a spider from my house. My mom is the only one in the family who isn't afraid of spiders, and my sister and dad are just as useless around them as I am. As much as I love Halloween, I can't and don't even put up any decor that has fake spiders on it, because I just can't stand to look at it.)

The photo we're sharing of Eddy today is one we were going to save for Melissa and Mudpie's blooper blog hop at the end of the month. But, we want to share it today instead, in part because it speaks volumes about how this year is going. Besides, Eddy has more than enough bloopers left to share on the big blooper day. Anyway, here's your Eddy fix for today!

Have a fabulous Friday, friends!

Flashback Doodle of the Day

Yesterday's doodle, along with its accompanying poem, was more or less about reading a spooky tale on Halloween night. That reminded me of a doodle I created last year, in which a kitty and some cat-o'-lantern friends are watching a scary movie on Halloween night. So, that's the flashback doodle I'm sharing today.

Tip of the Day

It is not only important to prevent your furbaby's access to dangerous products during the Halloween season, and to know the signs of potential toxicity, but also to know when and where veterinary offices are open in your area. It is it course ideal that emergencies be prevented by taking precautions. Sometimes, though, accidents and emergencies do happen. For this reason, it is important that you are aware of the hours and locations of veterinary clinics in your area. What time does your regular veterinary clinic close? Are there emergency clinics in the area? If so, when are they open, and where are they located? Planning ahead for potential emergencies may sometimes prove unnecessary, which is a good problem to have. But, in the event of an emergency, such as if your kitty or pup breaks into the candy stash on Halloween, you can save precious time and potentially your furbaby's life by knowing ahead of time where you can take them for immediate veterinary care. This is important any time of the year, but of course including during holidays such as Halloween, when dangerous products and situations may be more prevalent. It's also important to know what's going with your veterinary clinic during this pandemic, so that you know the protocols ahead of time.

We love Halloween too - even if there won't be any little goblins trick or treating we will still enjoy seeing decorations in the neighborhood. Thanks to you and Ellen for co-hosting fill-ins - it's so much fun learning about our friends!

Hugs, Pam

Dad says he's always loved Halloween, too. He's always had a thing for all things scary, and in his youth so very many years ago could often be found wreaking havoc on his neighborhood.

Thanks for hosting the fill-ins, you have great answers.

If i lived near enough, i would gladly come rescue the spiders from your house, i am a confirmed arachnophile and i hope you can forgive me for that. Yes, i promise to keep them away from you.

Thank Eddy for her fun blooper and enjoy your weekend!

Supurr fill-ins, and #4 also applies here, the P.A pulled a rug over her on the sofa the other evening and was greeted by a huge monster who'd crept in and hidden among the folded fabric, she never moved so fast and the scream was heard 3 counties away! MOL MOL

Another great week of fill ins. I've never really been a fan of Halloween. I don't know why and yet I do like spooky type of movies. I hope you have a great weekend!

You're so right, Eddy! Great answers. I can see why 1993 was such a special year for you. Strangely enough, that was a horrible year in my little world. I try not to kill bugs...I'll purposely try to capture them and bring them outside...but I show no mercy to spiders.

I enjoyed all your answers. I am glad you have some kitties that love cuddles. As you know I love Halloween. I like spiders too. When my niece lived here, I always got her this time of year by placing a plastic spider in the shower. I still do it at her house, but the other day she thought I put one in her office and went to pick it up= and it moved. :)
I love the flashback drawing and Eddy's photo. Great tips too. Have a nice weekend. XO
