Thankful Thimble Thursday

This post is going up way later than intended. There's a variety of reasons for that. None of the reasons are serious, they're just sort of chaotic and a bit frustrating. No biggie in the grand scheme of things.

So, on Thursdays, I usually share my poem for Angel Sammy's Thoroughly Poetic Thursday challenge. My poem is underway, but I was not able to complete it quite yet. I even worked on it this morning, and right now during a small break I have from work, but I still have a bit to go before the little story it tells is complete.

In addition to the above, I also want to apologize if I've been incredibly late to comment on our friend's blog posts lately, or if I've been seemingly absent from your blogs. I actually often visit your blogs to check in on you all, but I don't always get the chance to comment. If I'm going to give an explanation, or excuse, or whatever you want to call it, I'm going to admit that my job is taking a frustrating amount of my time and energy these days. First of all, it's gotten increasingly busy at my workplace simply because of the type of services we offer. We're a small yet essential business, and our workload actually increased because of the pandemic. What's more, one of my co-workers is now out on COVID-19 quarantine. My co-worker does not have the virus, but her daughter has it and lives with her. Her daughter contracted it while at college in another town, and she is doing fine. My co-worker is required to quarantine for the 14 days her daughter is quarantining at her house, and then another 14 days after that. I have taken on a large amount of this co-worker's tasks on top of my own, and I'll admit it's quite stressful and a bit frustrating. I've been working later into the evening than I used to, and that has really cut into my time to blog and to work on all of my other hobbies and passions. I don't plan to let that last long, though. If I'm being brutally honest, I'm not the kind of person who wants to or is willing to live just to work, so I plan on sorting this all out.

So, with that rambling aside, I'll very likely have my poem finished and ready to post tomorrow. It will accompany the Friendly Fill-Ins challenge, another one of my favorite weekly blog events. Now, shall we move on? I think we should.

It's Thursday, right? That means we're ready to give some thanks for Brian's Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.

As always, Thimble is here to give thanks. What is this tabby girl grateful for today? She's grateful she has happy patrons visiting her little library! See?

Thimble is more or less our resident librarian, and visitors in her library always makes her a happy girl.

Last but not least, let's share the fill-in statements for tomorrow's Friendly Fill-Ins challenge. My co-host Ellen at 15andmeowing came up with the first two, and I came up with the second two.

1. I have zero interest in _________.

2. Note to self: _________.

3. _________ is my favorite treat.

4. If I were living in a horror film, I would _________.

We'll see you tomorrow, friends!

Flashback Doodle of the Day

The poem I am working on for this week is a witchy one. It's illustration will also be a witchy one, but it won't be shared until the poem is also shared. So, for today, I decided to share a witchy flashback doodle that was an illustration for a poem last year. This poem was called "The Witch of the Woods".

Tip of the Day

Today's tip is an extension of yesterday's tip, when we reminded you to only put Halloween costumes on furbabies who tolerate or enjoy it. Now we're here to mention the importance of choosing safe and secure costumes for those kitties and pups who do enjoy wearing them. There are a number of considerations to make in order to ensure that a Halloween costume, or other item of clothing, is safe for your furbaby. For example, you of course have to make sure that there are no embellishments or other decorations on the costume that could be chewed off and ingested, as this could indeed be dangerous. You also want to make sure that no strings or other similar parts and pieces could lead to a furbaby getting tangled in the costume. What's more, make sure the costume is the correct size and fit. A costume with too small of a neck hole or with too small of leg holes could be not only uncomfortable, but also dangerous for circulation. Dressing up our furbabies can indeed help you and them get into the Halloween spirit, but it is more so important to ensure their comfort and safety.

What kinds of books is your friend interested in, Thimble? I feel the same way about work. I enjoy my job and am very thankful it hasn't been affected by the pandemic, but I could never make it my life. I have too many other interests for that.

It is very difficult to try to do your work and someone else's, i hope they get you some temporary assistance or some other type of help soon to straighten it all out.

Don't feel obligated to comment. You have amnesty to not comment when you are barely keeping up with things.
