On this Tonks Tuesday, our resident calico got a bit distracted while trying to snap the purrfect shot for you all.

Sure, Tonks isn't looking at the camera, but she's still pretty darn cute, no? She's at least very proud of those whiskers of hers.

Doodle of the Day

Today we have for you a new doodle. We did warn you the other day that a couple of the new doodles we'll be sharing are a bit random, as well as weird and wacky. This one is also a bit, well, uncensored. See?

This doodle actually stemmed from my sister and I having a conversation about how my girl Thimble kind of likes to show off her tushie. Then we got to talking about that burning question that is, "Do these pants make my butt look big?" And so then this doodle ended up in my sketchbook.

For the record, Thimble doesn't care if her butt looks big. She quite loves that tushie of hers, as she knows it's downright adorable. And I would agree with her on that.

Tip of the Day

It's the first day of June, which means summer is knocking at the door. In honor of this season of heat and humidity, we're going to share some summer safety tips that we more or less mention every single summer. We hate to be a broken record, but summer safety is important for our furbabies, so we don't mind sharing these tips each year.

So, let's get right on with these summer tips, shall we? To begin, in many areas, summer can mean extreme heat. For this reason, it is important to know the signs of heat exhaustion or heat stroke in your cat or dog. Signs of overheating in our furbabies can include excessive panting, difficulty breathing, increased heart rate and respiration rate, excessive drooling, weakness, or even vomiting and diarrhea. If your furbaby begins to show any of these signs, especially if they have been in the heat, do not hesitate to seek veterinary assistance. Tomorrow, we'll start diving a little deeper into how to keep your kitties and pups safe from overheating and other summer concerns.
