A Caturday Art Delay

Last night was when I planned on putting the final touches on our first post for this year's April A to Z Challenge. However, since we live smack dab in the Midwest, we instead spent our night storm tracking and preparing to go into hiding with the kitties and pup should a tornado appear in our area. Our evening was filled with severe thunderstorms, excessive wind gusts, and power glitches. That said, we are incredibly blessed to be in one of the areas that did not experience any major damage or casualties. My thoughts and prayers are with our neighboring cities and states that cannot say the same.

We will be back tomorrow with our first post for this year's April A to Z Challenge, which will luckily time out fine since Sundays are the usual weekly A to Z hiatus.

Stay safe, friends!

Tip of the Day

April is Heartworm Awareness Month. For the next couple of days, therefore, we're going to repeat some heartworm tips that we gave in the past. So, these tips may sound familiar, but we've decided to share them again for this significant month.

We'll start simple and remind you all that heartworms come from mosquitoes, and a dog or cat can become infected if they are bit by a mosquito carrying larvae. This can occur in indoor or outdoor furbabies. For indoor animals, you can try to keep all windows and doors closed, in hopes to prevent mosquito entry into the house. However, they can enter through cracks, or simply when you open the door to enter or exit. What's more, it is possible for mosquitoes to be out and about year round, even in the winter. For this reason, our first, very significant tip is to simply ensure that you keep your dogs and cats on preventatives that include heartworm coverage, and that you do this year round.

Glad you were safe despite all the inconveniences. Excellent tips. I know my Sammy had tested positive for heartworms so a mosquito that got indoors clearly bit him.

We are so glad you are safe from that scary weather. We're purring and praying who are affected by them.

How scary! What a horrible outbreak it was.

The weather was wild, too many were affected.
The Hubby says we had severe thunderstorms overnight, but I didn't hear a thing, nor did Sweetie, as we remained nap buddies all night.
