Sunny Shades of Gray

Today, we indeed have a selfie for you. After all, as always, we are participating in the fun and fantastic Sunday Selfies blog hop, hosted by the Kitties Blue over at The Cat on My Head.

The selfie we're sharing today is also the first in a series we'll be doing for the rest of the week. This series stems from the fact that last week's prompt for the Pet Photography Challenge was black and white. Each furbaby around here managed to snap some colorless shots, many of them bloopers, some of them halfway decent. We'll be sharing those black and white shots with you throughout the week.

To kick things off, Evan took himself a selfie in the glorious sun at his beloved front door. So what if it's in black and white? A sun puddle's a sun puddle!

This here selfie of Evan's is the very photo we entered into the black and white challenge. Though we had a tough time picking who would get to share their photo in the challenge, we ultimately decided that Evan was the one. Why? Because all of the other furbabies here are some semblance of black and white or black and gray, and their photos just didn't quite seem as truly black and white as orange boy Evan's. So, the honor was his!

As our last bit of business, we have today's daily doodle for you. This was actually originally going to be our doodle for Dr. Seuss Day, because this here human grew up loving One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish. But, this just didn't really go with our post for that day, at least we didn't think so, which is why you're now seeing it today instead.

Do any of our furiends have any fish pals they like to hunt watch?

Happy Sunday, everybuddy!

Our Tip of the Day:
We've mentioned on numerous occasions the importance of giving your furbabies something to watch and stimulate their minds. Windows are always a great idea, as the birds and squirrels and other wildlife do a wonderful job of keeping many cats' and dogs' attention. But don't forget that there are also other sources of similar entertainment, and just one of these is a fish tank, if you have the space and ability for one. Watching fish, or even frogs, turtles, or lizards, can help to keep your cat or dog occupied and mentally simulated. And don't forget that, should you not have the space or ability to keep real fish, there are also artificial ones available on the market. You can even purchase special tanks or bowls in which fake fish swim around, and this can serve just as great (not to mention easier and cleaner) of a purpose as a real tank. Similarly, there are a variety of apps, games, shows, and even computer screensavers that do great at interacting with your furbaby and keeping their attention. So, especially at times when your furbaby acts bored or when typical Bird TV and the like is not available, perhaps try to find a fishy or other alternative to exercising your furbaby and their mind. They'll thank you for it!

Great picture of you Evan. We like the black and white. How lucky is that kitty to have fish to watch. We would sure be trying to catch those fish. You all have a great day.

Evan, that's a terrific black and white photo of you, handsome boy! We love your Seussian drawing, too. That's one of our favorite Dr. Seuss books, too. :)

I think this photo of Evan with his sun puddle is fantastic and so is the drawing. Great tips to entertain the furbabies. We used to have fish years ago, but they never lived long. My cats did enjoy watching hermit crabs that we had a long time ago.

I love black-and-white photography. Textures really seem to pop, and it gives one an entirely different perspective. You did a lovely job here!

I love it! And actually, I think it's better in black and white than it would be in color.

I used to have betta fish, haven't had one in a few years though. The last one I had was named Blue, after Red Fish Blue Fish One Fish Two Fish.
