Caturday Art with a Side of Canine

We're halfway through September, and there are no signs of leaves changing color yet in our corner of the world. We'll get there soon, hopefully. Perhaps it would help if it wasn't 90°F? You know, though, 90°F weather in September is a perfect time for your car's air conditioning to go out. True story, but I digress.

Anyway. I'm living my autumnal dream through my doodles these days. That's why our doodles are all shades of autumn, as you might have noticed.

Though the kitties around here don't have access to the great outdoors, I'm pretty sure that might be a relatively accurate depiction of what kittens Tonks and Winky would do if they stumbled upon a pile of leaves. For those girls, anything and everything is a jungle gym. Oh, and as for pup Astrid? Well, she's afraid of leaves. Indeed, she refuses to walk on leaves on her walks. So, instead, she jumps over them. Sometimes, her walks during the autumn months look more like intricate games of hopscotch that span the entire neighborhood.

Of course, that there leafy doodle is our contribution to Athena's Caturday Art blog hop!

Happy Caturday to all!

Our Tip of the Day:

Today's autumn pet safety tip is about candles. As the weather cools and holidays begin to approach, many folk feel compelled to light some cozy, deliciously-scented candles. That being said, always be careful with candles, and any open flames, around your furbabies. If you do light candles, keep them only in areas where your furbaby cannot reach. For some furbabies, putting lit candles up on a high shelf might suffice. Many cats, for example, though, might still be able to reach candles on shelves and other similar surfaces. If you do have such a furbaby capable of this, yet you also wish to light a candle, then consider measures such as keeping your kitty or pup out of the room where the candle is lit. The long and short of it is to never leave lit candles anywhere that a furbaby can reach, and certainly not unattended. Otherwise, a kitty or pup might find themselves burnt, or might knock a candle over and increase the risk of fire. If you cannot ensure the safety of your furbaby and home, then simply refrain from lighting candles.

It's also worthwhile to note that certain items associated with candles should also be considered dangerous and off-limits to furbabies. This would include matches and lighters, for example. These items should be kept tucked safely away, just as lit candles should.

Poor Astrid and her problem with walking on leaves....Fall must be a VERY tough time for her! I wonder if the tickle her paws OR if she doesn't like the crunch noise....or maybe she just likes sidewalks to be free of STUFF!!

Hugs, Teddy

Thanks for sharing the great tip. Love the doodle. The look on the dog's face is so funny with the kitties in the leaves. We are hoping the leaves start changing soon also. This humid weather has been really bad this summer around us. Thanks for the share. Have a wonderful weekend.

I love the drawing. I can picture Astrid jumping over leaves, that is too cute. Great tips too, no candles here except battery operated ones :)

No changing of leaves here yet, hopefully soon - that doodle put me in the mood for fall!

That is funny that Astrid doesn't like leaves. Your cute drawing reminds me of one autumn when I had spent the morning raking leaves off the lawn and brushing the path. I went indoors to get sacks to put the huge pile in to use for mulch the following year. Flynn came out, saw the mountain and took a flying leap in it and scattered it everywhere. Then Eric decided to join him and I was back to square 1.

Our leaves haven't changed yet either. I am sure fall will come when it is ready. You have a great day.

Would Winky and Tonks still be young enough to learn to walk on a harness and maybe staked on a tie out when you are out there, thus allowing them to play in the leaves?

Poor Astrid.

Great doodle, and a very wise tip. A friend of mine had a candle lit in her bathroom, and her husband opened the door and let the cat in, not knowing. Cat jumped over the candle and got singed whiskers and learned he didn’t like candles. Husband learned to knock and ask if he could let the cat in first.

Your art is amazing! It was 88 here today...enough summer, already!!!

Poor Astrid. We can see how those leaves would be a little scary -- all crunchy and not stable and stuff. We do love that doodle, though. And it was in the 80s here today, too. We were actually happy to have some sun, as we feel it's been raining every weekend.

Beautiful art as always!

We are happy to see the leaves changing colours here in our new home because we are surrounded by trees. At our old house in the city we rarely saw any.

Big Bandwidth: All the electromagnetic equipment is in a hurry when the bandwidth is high, and the return loss is high, so you can cover the entire city with just one antenna. However, it is not possible to cover the entire city with just one antenna, as is the case with other electrical transmissions. However, with fiber you can transmit hundreds of Gigabit per second in a large range.
