Indeed, this little Tonks of a lady cat is 1 year old today! That means it's also the birthday of her sister Winky and her brother Flitwick. As many of you know, Winky owns this here human's sister, and my sister and therefore Winky live with us. Tonks and Winky's brother Flitwick happens to own my parents. To celebrate these three cuties' first birthday, how about some baby pictures?
There is a bit of a story to go along with these adorable kittens. I've told that story before, and I was going to repeat it here, but since I seem incapable of telling anything resembling a short story, I will instead recommend that you click here to read their story. So, if you're interested in knowing more than a little about these kittens, who are now no longer kittens, that is indeed where you'll find their story.
These little ones may not be that little anymore, but they're still cuter than cute, and they're loved bunches!
Now, who's up for some birthday cake?
Cut yourself a slice and feast away. We've also got oodles of catnip, and toys galore. Have yourself some birthday fun with us!
When we shared our weekly poem this past week as part of the Thoroughly Poetic Thursday challenge, we did not share our poem's illustration at that time. This was because we had already shared our A to Z Challenge doodle that day. Since Sundays are a hiatus day in the A to Z Challenge, we mentioned we were instead going to share that poem's doodle today. To read the poem that goes along with this illustration, titled "Mr. Darcy and Dirk", just click here.
Our Tip of the Day:
Today's tip is all about gift ideas for birthday kitties. To help celebrate your cat's birthday, you can of course consider getting them new toys, such as anything from a catnip toy to a more involved interactive toy. If your kitty has enough toys, but you'd like them to have a good time on their birthday, you could perhaps go for a gift of catnip, silver vine, or valerian root. Another potential option for gifts for a birthday kitty is a new cat bed, blanket, or cat tree. There is also the option of special treats or food for your cat to enjoy on their special day, such as a new kind they've never tried before, one they don't get to have often, or even just an extra serving of their favorite. Some pet stores or online vendors even offer special cat treats or cakes for birthdays or other special occasions. You can even peruse the internet for safe recipes to make your kitty their own sort of birthday cake, such as one made out of tuna and egg.
Many of our kitties are plenty spoiled. For this reason, you can also think beyond gifts for your kitty his or herself on their birthday. To help spread the love your cat gets from you on a daily basis, for their birthday, consider making a donation to an animal shelter or rescue in your cat's name and honor. You could donate money, resources, or even your time. This can allow you to celebrate your cat's birthday by offering a helping hand to furbabies who, unlike your kitty, are still awaiting their own forever homes.
