G is for...

Here we are with another day of the April A to Z Challenge.

Today, for our theme of "A Day at Rosie's Restaurant", we have the letter G. Yesterday Rosie shared French toast with you all, and that was the last meal she prepared from the breakfast menu. It's almost time to move on to the lunch menu, but not without a little appetizer first.

Is anyone up for some garlic and herb dip, of course with some fresh veggies on the side? Help yourself! Don't fill your stomach too much, though, because Rosie has lots more meals to share with you all.

Astrid didn't want anyone to forget about her usual Woof Woof Wednesday posts. So, she informed me that today she would be sharing yet another shot of her pouting in the window. As per usual.

Happy Wednesday, friends!

Tip of the Day

We've discussed before the potential toxicity of plants that belong in the Allium group. These plants include garlic, onion, chives, and so forth. To put it simply, garlic, onion, and other Allium plants are toxic to cats and dogs. Toxicity can occur if raw, cooked, or even powdered versions of garlic, onion, or other Allium plants are ingested. One of their primary methods of toxicity involves damaging red blood cells and thereby causing anemia. They can also cause gastrointestinal distress. It's worth noting that ingesting a small amount of garlic, onion, or other Allium plant will likely not cause toxic effects, especially not in large dogs. Larger amounts, though, can indeed be dangerous, especially for cats and small dogs. In severe cases of Allium toxicity, anemia and other negative side effects could potentially result in death. Even though a small amount of an Allium such as garlic or onion is less likely to be toxic, it is better to be safe than sorry and to simply avoid feeding any foods containing these as ingredients. If you have any questions regarding the safety of foods, never hesitate to discuss this with a veterinarian.

Garlic dip sounds like just the ticket. 💖 Luckily our kitties hate the smell of garlic so we don't have to worry about them sampling anything. We just get that look the 'you're eating what now' one 😂

Around here, G is for greens, since we eat vegetables like crazy!
With lots of garlic as flavoring, for sure.

Astrid, we love seeing your pouting out the window on Wednesday. Some fresh garlic and herb dip does sound good with some fresh carrots and celery. Thanks for the share. Have a wonderful day.

We'll pass on the garlic...it's not good for kitties...and besides, it gives us bad breath! Looking good, Astrid!
