Friendly Fill-Ins

We've reached Friday. Congratulations. Speaking of Friday, are you ready for the Friendly Fill-Ins challenge? We sure are. You're welcome to play along! My co-host Ellen of 15andmeowing came up with the first two fill-in statements, and I came up with the second two.

1. Nothing is better than _________.

2. I _________ my _________ in _________.

3. _________ makes me feel energized.

4. I would advise others to _________.

My answers are below in bold.

1. Nothing is better than kitty cuddles.
(I love when any of my kitties want to cuddle. I also of course love when my pup wants to cuddle. I will never turn down a cuddle session with one of my furry cuties.)

2. I eat my breakfast in bed.
(I'm not sure whether this practice is majorly frowned upon or not, but I indeed eat my breakfast in bed. There are a variety of reasons for this, but the long and short of it is that I'm always hungry the second I wake up. Also, I like to eat before, but not too soon before, my morning workout. Most importantly, my kitty Eddy, who essentially lives in my bedroom because she dislikes certain other kitties in the house, always wants a lengthy cuddle session right after I wake up. To accommodate my ideal early breakfast time while also accommodating Eddy's need for early morning cuddles, I just take my breakfast to my room and eat it while I Eddy curls up and purrs on my lap while I sit on my bed. That's perfectly normal, right?)

3. Coming up with a new idea makes me feel energized.
(I love drawing, writing, and other similar creative endeavors. When I get a new idea for any of these hobbies of mine, such as an idea for a new drawing or an idea for a story, I get really excited. New ideas give me the motivation and energy to sit down and create something, right then and there. Sometimes this happens when I'm not able to get right to creating my new idea, though, such as if I'm at work. In such cases, I grab a piece of scrap paper and write my idea down so that I won't forget it and so that I can work with it later. There's just something so exciting and energizing about having a new idea to work with.)

4. I would advise others to be yourself.
(The older I get, the more I realize that the only way to truly live and enjoy life is if you are true to yourself. So, be yourself!)

It's time for your Eddy fix!

Eddy does not make it easy to get a clear, quality shot of her. She also doesn't make it easy to get a shot of her looking in even the general direction of the camera. That's why I was happy when Eddy sat still just long enough for me to snap this photo, and it even shows off her fuzzy tummy!

Happy Friday, friends!

Tip of the Day

Yesterday, we discussed being aware of your furbaby's safety around potentially hazardous plants. Today, as yet another tip for National Pet Poison Awareness Month, we're giving a reminder to also be careful of other dangers that might come with those plants. When outside with your pup or kitty, always be cognizant of the fact that some areas may have been treated with fertilizers, weed killers, and pesticides. Depending on their ingredients, such garden substances can potentially affect the intestinal tract, respiratory system, the mucosal membranes of the eyes and nose, or the skin. So, try to avoid using such garden treatments in your yard and around your home, or ensure that any treated areas are kept off limits to your pups and kitties. Also be careful when you are away from home and in areas with which you are not familiar, including strangers' yards and public parks, as you do not know what types of plant or lawn treatments may have been used in such places.

In addition, if you do use any form of fertilizer, weed killer, or pesticide, always be cautious where you store it. Make sure that it is in an areas that your furbaby cannot reach. And yet another consideration to make is the possibility of your furbaby or yourself unknowingly walking through a treated area while outside. Therefore, after a stroll outside, you might consider wiping off your furbaby's paws, as well as your shoes, to help ensure that nothing unknown is left lingering and entering the home. We can't say it enough times—it's better to be safe than sorry!

Lorraine,

I haven't eaten breakfast in bed in years. lol I remember when we were first married, I'd take DH coffee to have in bed while he got his bearings on the weekends. Neither of us do that anymore unless one is super sick and even then we do our best to make it to the living room to have our breakfast. I actually prefer having our meals in the living room. It's more comfortable. New ideas give me energy, too. Just yesterday I semi-committed to the A to Z Challenge coming up with an art theme. I haven't decided yet if I want to sign up officially or fly under the radar since I'm getting such a late start on this project. I'll need to decide what to do before Monday since that's the first sign-up day. Good advice to be oneself. I think most of my life I have. Sometimes I wished I was more like others but I never did anything out of peer pressure.

Your artwork is always so adorable. Thanks for sharing your fill-ins. Have a nice weekend. Stay safe and be well, my furriend.

Great Fill-ins. Mom doesn't eat breakfast most days but thinks eating in bed while cuddling a kitty sounds wonderful.

Cutie pie Eddy!
I don't eat in bed, but I will give Sweetie a meal in my bed, after I've stuffed that capsule down her throat. Some days, she's really miffed, so I place her bowl on a half-sheet of newspaper, and let her have her meal in bed!

I love all your answers to the fill-ins. I agree kittle cuddles are the best- my answer was similar. I am glad you have something that energizes you, that is important. Eddy is a cutie and that is a perfect shot of her. Cute drawing and excellent tips too.

Do you get any of the human's breakfast, Eddy. That would make me hang around.

Breakfast in bed sounds quite reasonable to me, and Eddy looks positively like she's enjoying posing.
