Our Tip of the Day:Did you know that more pets go missing on July 4th than any other holiday? It makes sense, when you think about how terrifying the sight and sound of fireworks must be for some kitties and pups. That being said, we are going to yet again stress today the importance of keeping your furbabies safe and sound this 4th of July. Especially for those furbabies who are skittish or afraid of fireworks, keep them inside. Try to drown out the sights and sounds of the festivities by closing windows and curtains, and turning on music or the TV or a movie. Distraction techniques might also work, such as initiating playtime with your furbaby. You can even experiment with using something such as a ThunderShirt, or crafting your own with a spare shirt or a blanket. If nothing else, make sure your furbaby has a safe place to hide, and let them hide out there. And, if possible, don't forget the strays or ferals in your area. Perhaps set up some sort of safe haven in your yard, or even use your garage. Some of us humans might enjoy a patriotic fireworks show, but certainly not all furbabies do, so please take this into consideration!
