Friday Fun

Today is Friday, which means it's time for another Friendly Fill-Ins challenge!

This challenge is hosted by our furiends over at 15andmeowing and McGuffy's Reader. This week, they came up with the following phrases for us to fill in:
  1. Everyone should read _________.
  2. My first _________ was a _________.
  3. My favorite time of day is _________, because _________.
  4. I think dreams _________.
And so, I filled them in:
  1. Everyone should read whatever makes them happy. (I am a huge advocate of reading. It doesn't matter what you read, so long as you read!)
  2. My first home was a trailer. (Neither of my parents grew up in a wealthy family, and neither did I, but we were never wanting. This is something of which I have never felt ashamed to admit.)
  3. My favorite time of day is early morning, because that is when the world is quiet. (I love getting up first thing in the morning, when the rest of the neighborhood is still asleep and all you can hear outside are the birds singing. It's such a peaceful time of day.)
  4. I think dreams can come true. (No, I do not work for Disney. I do, however, think that with a little hard work and perseverance, dreams can be fulfilled.)
This is only the second week of this challenge, and I already know that I'll be happily participating each week. It's a fun challenge that really gets you thinking, and that lets us all get to know each other a little better. There's not much better than that!

And now, for the rest of this post, I figured I would feature my active girl Eddy. The poor girl hardly ever gets a post of her own. Those of you who follow our blog regularly know that Eddy is not the easiest furbaby to photograph. She's always on the go, never ready to sit still for a photo shoot. So, I've decided that in order ensure that she gets her fair share of blog time, I'm simply going to start regularly posting some of her photo attempts, even the ones that aren't so great.

That being said, here are some of Eddy's most recent photo attempts:

Up close and personal.

Eddy is great at the look-away-at-the-last-second pose.

Sniffing the blinds is so much more fun than looking at the camera.

Really, Eddy is a pro at looking away at the last second.

Wishing all of our furiends a wonderful Friday!

Our Tip of the Day:
Have you ever watched a kitten or puppy sleep and witnessed what looks like twitching in their legs and body, almost as if they're walking or running in their sleep? If you do see this, don't be alarmed. What's more, it might even be best that you not wake them. This is because when kittens and puppies twitch in their sleep like this, it is actually one way in which they and their body are learning motor skills and building muscle. In other words, their bodies are being conditioned and prepared for adulthood even while they sleep. This also goes for human babies, and babies of many species. So, let those babies live sleep and learn!

Our Mom loves your answers today. She loves getting up early in the morning. It is a wonderful peaceful time of day and everything is just waking up. We live in a trailer right now and are just glad to have a roof over our heads.
The pictures of Eddy are great. We like the second one. They show off her personality. You all have a fantastic day.

Thank you for participating, I love your answers. I agree with #1, as long as you read something is all that matters. Definitely no shame in living in a trailer and you were lucky to have your needs met by loving parents. The house I grew up in was a huge old victorian in need of paint. I was ashamed of it then, but now I realize I was lucky we had a roof over our heads and a I had loving parents. I like Eddy's photo shoot, she is a cutie even if she doesn't look at the camera. Great tip too, I did not know that.

With the exception of #2, which I took a totally different perspective on, we seem to think a lot alike.

Part of my childhood was growing up in a trailer, and apartments, and other people's houses...yeah, I had a wicked wild childhood. But, I survived. And reading was part of my salvation! And critters!Hugs. Thanks for joining us.

Every one should read a book, our first home was an RSPCA cattery, Hannah gets up when Mum does but Lucy lingers longer, we know dreams come true when you are both chosen from the RSPCA to live with our Mum.

Dreams are so important to our well being. What's that quote - 10% inspiration, 90% perspiration helps make dreams come true. Nice to meet you.

Enjoyed your fill-in answers. I was never ashamed of my upbringing either. My family was considered on the (low-income) level but my parents made sure we were well fed & clothed & clean looking. I enjoy reading too and love cats. Your Eddy is a handsome fellow.

Eddy makes me laugh! My cat Tiggy is so much like that, a pro at avoiding that camera phone in her face! I agree, reading is for enjoyment, read what appeals to you! I live in a "trailer" now, on 2 1/2 acres of West Texas pasture land, and it's a very cozy little house for Papa Bear and I, I wouldn't trade it for a big fancy one for anything! Mornings are the most wonderful time of day, our minds are sharp and our spirits are high! Yes, dreams can come true if we believe!

Eddy, we say, "Keep up the good work." Many of us are pros at that turn your head at the last second before the photo is snapped. That may be why Mauricio has become a blog hog. He never minds posing. We love the fill-ins as well. It really does give us a chance to get to know each other better. Mom is going to start doing them as well.
