Our Tip of the Day:
With summer approaching, I'll continue with some more hot weather tips. Especially if your furbaby is exposed to prolonged or excessive heat, watch out for signs of heat stroke, which include: elevated body temperature, heavy panting, increased heart rate, excessive salivation, vomiting, diarrhea, altered gait, stumbling or falling, confusion or anxiety, whining or unusual vocalization, lethargy, and seizures. If you see any of these signs, get your furbaby to a veterinarian immediately. If possible, while awaiting arrival at the vet's office, you can work to bring down your furbaby's body temperature by wetting him or her with cool water. But, it is crucial that you get an animal with heat stroke to a veterinarian as soon as possible, as heat stroke could potentially lead to permanent and even fatal damage.
