Well, there is a good reason. Monday is not only Mancat Monday, but also Talk Like a Pirate Day! See? Now that's not so bad for a Monday. So, in honor of this upcoming day of fun, our contribution for lovely Athena's Caturday Art blog hop stars mancat Evan as none other than a pirate.
Evan hopes you all like his pirating skills. But, he was wondering if anybuddy has any ideas as to what he and his feathered friend might have been talking about here? Maybe he had a few too many swigs of whatever is in that drink he's holding, because Evan hasn't the slightest idea what had him and his bird buddy so excited.
So, furiends, any ideas?
Our Tip of the Day:How about a tip on something we don't talk about much? Birds! As I'm sure you all know, birds can make perfectly suitable companions just like cats and dogs. If considering getting a bird, though, keep in mind that they do indeed have special requirements for their care and wellbeing. It is of course important to have a cage as a safe haven for your bird, and to keep that cage clean of droppings and other waste. But, especially given what we see and know of birds out in the wild, a companion bird should certainly not be caged all the time. Always remember that birds do indeed have wings and are therefore made to fly. Some people clip their birds' wings, but before doing so please take into consideration the side effects and lifestyle that will result for your feathered friend. And don't forget to consider, do you have enough space for a bird to comfortably live, fly, and be happy? Are your living arrangements safe for a bird? Do you live somewhere that allows singing or talkative birds? And of course, as with all animals, diet is an important factor to consider for a bird. Did you know that a bird's diet shouldn't consist primarily of seed? It is important that they also take in foods such as fruits, vegetables, grains, and pellets. Another thing to consider? The view. Just like with our pups and kitties, birds will always appreciate and benefit from a window or two out of which to watch. You see, birds can make great friends! But, as with any pet, always consider all of the factors that go into keeping a healthy and happy bird.
