Fun with Fill-Ins

Welcome to the eve of the weekend! More commonly known as Friday.

Given that it's that special day of the week, we'll get right to the always fun Friendly Fill-Ins challenge, hosted by our good friends at 15andmeowing and McGuffy's Reader.

Yet again, our wonderful hosts have crafted some great fill-ins for us. I love the endless options the first fill-in offers, as you can see below:

1. _________ a _________.
2. My favorite magazine is _________.
3. Recently, _________.
4. Even though _________, I _________.

I really had to put my brain to the test. But that's a good thing! My brain could use all the exercise it can get. So, I thought, and then I thought some more, and here's what I came up with:

1. I am a Luddite.
(Who knows what a Luddite is? I didn't used to, but I've learned. A Luddite, strictly speaking, refers to a 19th century British worker who strove to destroy the machinery that began replacing the human workforce  Nowadays, though, it also has a more general meaning, and can simply refer to someone who is resistant to technological change. My sister never understands why I don't want a smartphone, or why I still almost exclusively read physical books rather than ebooks. She calls me a Luddite, and I won't argue with that.)

2. My favorite magazine(s) is (are) Cat Fancy and Dog Fancy.
(I actually no longer subscribe to many magazines, not even these. But, for years I received Cat Fancy and Dog Fancy every month. I actually still have all of them stashed away, because I just couldn't bring myself to discard the great info and pictures and overall adorableness within those pages. I may or may not have a problem.)

3. Recently, I learned that Thimble loves marshmallows.
(I was eating a fruit salad the other day, to which I added marshmallows, because, you know, why eat healthy? Anyway, Thimble found me and my marshmallows and swiftly stole one from the bowl. She did not eat it, but instead thought it was just about the funnest thing to bat around. This has now become a common occurrence. It's sad for Thimble, though, when she bats the marshmallow too close to pup Astrid, because then it quickly disappears.)

4. Even though I don't paint, I really enjoy watching Bob Ross's show.
(I love art, but painting is not my thing. I have to have a pencil or pen of some sort in my hand to feel comfortable. So, painting has never been my strong point by any means. Nevertheless, I love watching episodes of Bob Ross's show, where he so nonchalantly paints these incredible masterpieces in 30 minutes or less. I sometimes struggle just to succeed at those supposed 30-minute meals, and then there's Bob Ross, who paints an entire forest of happy trees in less time than it take me to put a plate of pasta on the table.)

Well, with the Fill-Ins all filled in, that means it's time to give you all your main Eddy fix for the week. Believe it or not, I actually got the girl to sit still. But, it was in a relatively dark room, and she refused to look at me.

Well, we gave it our best. Thanks for sort of cooperating, Eddy!

We're wishing everybuddy a fantastic Friday!

Our Tip of the Day:
Although not exactly toxic to your cat or dog, it is not recommended that you feed your furbabies treats such as marshmallows. Foods like marshmallows contain a fair amount of processed sugar, which is not an ideal component in your furbaby's diet. Especially if eaten in large quantities or at a high frequency, this sugar could potentially affect a cat or dog's blood sugar levels, and in a negative way, not to mention that there is always the potential for weight gain with unhealthy treats like marshmallows. What's more, especially for smaller animals, marshmallows and other large or sticky foods can be a potential choking hazard. So, when it comes to your furbaby, try to stick to those treats that are known to be safe and healthy.

Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, I love your answers and I learned some new things. I had never heard that word before and I have not heard of that show, but it sounds interesting. I don't like to paint either, I went to 2 of the paint and sip classes even though I don't drink, but I hated getting dirty.I would like to watch the process though. Your marshmallow story cracked me up that Astrid eats them :) Cat Fancy and Dog Fancy are actually Catster and Dogster now, I like the changes, more every day things unlike the original with a lot of the pedigree cats. Great job Eddy we get to see that pretty face. Have a nice weekend! I will be decorating for Halloween- I have a feeling you will be too :)

We had to laugh when Thimble stole a marshmallow and used it to practice her whapping technique!

My mom used to get me Cat Fancy subscriptions for years. I really enjoyed them. I haven't read any magazine for years now though. My cat Lucy LOVED marshmallows. I don't read ebooks either.

I always enjoy seeing Eddy's pics!

Our mom doesn't like marshmallows, so we won't have to worry about that! Mom says she'd heard the term Luddite but didn't know the meaning. She has to be convinced to use new technology, unlike our dad, who is all over it. Guess that is fairly typical! Your art is stunning without having to paint. I guess we differ in that one way, I love new technology :) I've never heard of a cat liking marshmallows...too cute! I have a bunch of old Cat Fancys too.

Great fill in answers. It's funny that Thimble likes marshmallows. We've never tried one ourselves. The mom still has a big pile of old Cat Fancy magazines in the basement.

I wouldn't argue with being called a Luddite either. I am not good with change. My computer is still using Windows Vista. I'm putting off getting a new computer with a new operating system as long as I can, if that tells you anything. :)

I think it would be great to know how to paint. I think of all sorts of pictures in my head, but have no way to get them out of there onto a canvas.

I love marshmallows, but not the kind that comes in some cereals. Those are icky once they get soaked in milk. I bet the kitty has a blast batting them around.

Have a great weekend!

Yeah, we don't have a smartphone either. Just a dumb hone. And almost all TBT does on that is delete "Missed calls" from scammers5-6 times each day. We have NoMoRoBo Call. It helps, but he still has to delete the missed calls each day.

I love your answers. It is always like visiting with a friend...well, it is! George has an aversion to fruit or anything fruity. Marshmallows, he might like. He is a funny little dude. I think I am a Luddite, too. *wink*
I have been sick with a very bad cold. Stay well!
