Fill-Ins and Photo Aversion

Happy Friday, friends! We'll start off, as always, with the fun Friendly Fill-Ins Challenge, hosted by none other than 15andmeowing and McGuffy's Reader.

Our amazing challenge hosts always come up with the best of the best, like these:

1. My middle name is _________.
2. _________ surprises.
3. The Super Bowl _________.
4. My favorite sport is _________.

And here's what I came up with this week:

1. My middle name is Marie.
(This middle name is more or less an heirloom in my family. Not only do my mom and sister also have this middle name, but so do my maternal grandmother and aunt, as well as some of my cousins.)

2. I have a love-hate relationship with surprises.
(Like anyone, I love me a good, happy surprise. And, like anyone, I don't like those surprises that throw me for a less than ideal loop. So, I guess surprises and I are in a complicated relationship.)

3. The Super Bowl means I get to watch the Kitten Bowl and Puppy Bowl!
(This is why I love Super Bowl Sunday. Who doesn't love watching kitties and puppies play the cutest games of football on the TV?!? Let's be honest, both me and my furbabies enjoy this immensely.)

4. My favorite sport is furbaby snuggling.
(I've never in my life played a sport competitively, and I don't watch many sports, or any at all, really. But I do love to cuddle me some furbabies. That counts, right?)

And of course today we also have your weekly fix of Eddy! This week, as is usual, Eddy just wasn't in the mood for a photo shoot. While some weeks that means she scampers off, willing to offer nothing but a blurry mess, this week Eddy actually sat still. But, the catch? She refused to look at the camera.

My, what a lovely chin you have, Eddy. Is anybuddy else having some photo aversion today?

Oh, and our art for today is another quote piece. It's a simple one, but it's for a quote that I feel holds much meaning for those of us who know the love that a furry four-legged friend can offer.

A fantastic Friday to all!

Our Tip of the Day:
Just as we mentioned for the holidays, please be sure to keep your furbabies safe this Super Bowl weekend! The big game can make for some fun events with lots of good food, but that fun and food can be dangerous to our furbabies. If you're throwing a party, consider keeping your furbaby in a separate room of the house from any open doors and heavy foot traffic. Also make sure your pup or kitty doesn't sneak any dangerous treats, such as alcohol, chocolate, or even party mix that might contain potentially dangerous flavorings such as onion or garlic. Even our happy cheers while watching a game can stress out the furry ones in our life, so make sure they have somewhere nice and quiet to retreat if you have the game on. Our fun and games might not be the same fun and games as those of our pups or kitties, so please take this into account on this Super Bowl weekend!

Yes there is nothing better that a nice furry paw that shows us love. Eddy, you are so silly about the camera. But we do like seeing your chin. You all have a great day.

Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, you always have great answers. I think family names are wonderful and Marie is beautiful. I am with you on the sports, I do think snuggling furbabies should be a sport.
Eddy is such a cutie, it was nice to see more than a blur this week. She has a lovely chin :) And I absolutely LOVE your art and the words with it. And as always, great tip. I can see if someone is having a party it would be easy for pets to escape or get into bad food. Have a great weekend!

My sister's middle name is also Marie. I think it's neat that so many in your family have that name. It's such a pretty name (I was always jealous of my sister for her middle name). Yes, looking forward to the Kitten Bowl!

Annie loves to photo avert too but she's never tried looking straight up. I love that picture, LOL!

I just love your art and quote!

I almost used that exact quote as the tagline when I re-did my header a couple months ago (thus the paw in the hand which I did keep) ... in the end, when I asked for feedback, a couple people pointed out that it didn't really fit my blog since I try to make it more light-hearted and humorous. But that sentiment is ABSOLUTELY why I started my blog to begin with. Bear saved my life.
ps - We don't like surprises ... but yet we love our furbabies dearly and wouldn't trade them for a carefully ordered life with no surprises for anything :)

Aw, I love that quote. I've never played a sport competitively either. And Super Bowl Sunday is all about the Puppy and Kitten Bowls here too!

We critter lovers hit the jackpot when the Puppy and the Kitten Bowl were introduced. Cannot give up the opportunity to squee. This is the best quote EVER! We think you should make that theta line for your blog! XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo and Cooper Murphy
