Happy Friday!

Happy Friday, everybuddy! Are you ready for the weekend? We sure are. We're also ready for today, because it's time for the fun Friendly Fill-Ins challenge, hosted by our great friends at 15andmeowing and McGuffy's Reader.

Today's fill-ins were especially fun. See?

1. As a child, my favorite playground activity was _________.
2. For breakfast, I have _________.
3. An instrument I would like to play is _________.
4. I always try to _________, because _________.

Here's how I fared:

1. As a child, my favorite playground activity was swinging.
(Honestly, who doesn't love to swing? I also enjoyed the monkey bars, but swings always took first place.)

2. For breakfast, I have a peanut butter banana smoothie.
(Various digestive issues no longer allow me to eat my beloved peanut butter, but I recently discovered that Jif makes peanut powder, which my digestion luckily does allow. Now, my breakfast every morning is a peanut butter banana smoothie, using the peanut powder, a frozen banana, and almond milk. I usually have another such smoothie for snack, because I just love them that much. Oh, and pup Astrid likes them, too. The girl wouldn't eat a plain banana to save her life, but she'll gladly eat bananas in this form. I'm pretty sure she thinks she's eating ice cream.)

3. An instrument I would like to play is the violin.
(One of my favorite musical artists is a violinist. Such beautiful music. I also quite enjoy listening to the cello.)

4. I always try to smile at strangers, because you never know when someone could use some kindness.
(Though I am admittedly a slightly anti-social introvert, I do my best to smile and say hello to strangers. Whether I'm walking my dog or perusing the aisles of the grocery store, I try to spread even some small kindness if I can.)

Now, who's ready for the weekly Eddy fix? You're in for a real treat, because Eddy was just about to tell us a spooky story by the light of the fire aquarium.

Does anybuddy have any ghost story requests?

Boo!

We hope we didn't scare you too much! Happy Friday!

Our Doodle of the Day:

Eddy gets the honor of sharing our last Christmas in July doodle. This girl is a Christmas tree killer climber, so this seemed up her alley.

***
Our Tip of the Day:
Some of the kitties around here are coming due for their annual exams and vaccines, and so we thought this would be a good time to remind everyone to try to make those dreaded carriers places of fun and goodness. What's more, try to do this not just near the time of your kitty's vet visit, but year round. When the carrier is out all of the time, your cat has less reason to fear it. Of course, this might not work for all kitties, but it is always worth a try. You can even toss toys into the carrier, make it a blanketed snoozie spot, or make it a place where they receive treats, or even moist food or catnip. Make it an inviting place that does not only mean V-E-T. Then, when that date with the doctor does arrive, going into the carrier will be less likely to turn into a battle that leaves both you and your furbaby stressed.

I had to laugh at Astrid and bananas. Stella will hear me pop open a banana and be right there. She always get a bite. When we rescued Kenzie, she thought they were gross, until she saw Stella enjoy them.
We want to hear Eddy's spooky tale! Hugs, guys!

Those are great shots of Eddy, not even blurry :) I can see she likes the aquarium. Great drawing of her with the tree too. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, you always have enjoyable answers. The smoothie sounds very tasty, how cute that Astrid likes it too. Swings are the best :) I have never had a lot of upper arm strength so the monkey bars were not a favorite of mine. That is sweet of you to smile at others despite being an introvert. Great tip about the carrier, i should leave one out. Have a nice weekend!

I love the shot of Eddy! The look on her face is priceless ... something like, "Really, Mom?!?! REALLY?!?!" I miss peanut butter. I can't eat whole nuts or chunky peanut butter anymore. I don't know why - but it just does a number on my stomach. Recently, even Reeses Butter Cups have been too much! Grrr. I played the violin for years - but I never really liked it - my father was convinced I'd get a college scholarship (NOT!). After I quit the violin, I did teach myself cello and I loved that!

That is a really cute doodle of the day and a very good idea about leaving the carrier around all the time.

That is a cute expression on Eddy's spooky story photos. :)

Your peanut butter banana smoothie sounds yummy! I've always loved peanut butter and banana sandwiches and I love almonds, too. We'll have to try this at some point. I'm sorry that you have digestive issues, but am glad you're able to still have things you love.

Have a blessed weekend. :)
