Mancat Monday and Medical Motivation

Last week, Thimble shared with you all a photo or two of what happens when you hire an amateur photographer. Actually, said photographer is novice at best. As Thimble proved, a shoddy photographer means that your ears very well might not make it into the shot. Now, Evan agrees with Thimble. Honestly, can you believe the photographer around here chopped Evan's handsome ears right out of his Mancat Monday shots?

Does this photographer have something against ears? Sheesh!

Though Evan is not impressed with his photographer's wild lack of skill, he is grateful about one thing today. He's grateful he's not the one going to the V-E-T. Thimble's not so lucky, though. She's due for a bit of an annual exam and some needlework. Indeed, she'll be getting locked in that PTU and whisked away today. She is less than thrilled.

Believe it or not, though, kitties, the V-E-T might not be the absolute worst thing in the world. After all, that V-E-T helps keep you healthy! That thought even relates to our Spark for today. Though Annie of McGuffy's Reader is taking a blogging break, we still often feel compelled to share an inspirational thought in honor of her Sparks blog hop.

Annie initiated the Sparks hop in order for us all to share positive thoughts in this often negative world. As we mentioned, our positive thought for today relates to health. These words were spoken by Mahatma Gandhi, and they are:

"It is health that is real wealth and not pieces of gold and silver."

Thimble may not be looking forward to her visit with the V-E-T, but that doesn't mean it's not good for her!

Happy Monday to all of our friends!

Our Tip of the Day:

We're in the last stretch of our tips on how to decorate your home around your furbabies. Yesterday's tip involved helping give your kitty or pup a window view by putting a cat tree, couch, or chair beside the window. Today's tip takes this concept in another direction, and involves looking into ways to make your home even more accessible to and traversable by your feline furbabies. For example, there are cat shelves on the market that can be placed along your home's walls, and which can be placed in ways that allow your kitty to not only rest on the shelves, but to also to travel the perimeter of a room by way of those wall shelves. There are plenty of other similar features available on the market as well, including walkways, bridges, ladders, and all sorts of items that can allow your furbaby to travel throughout the house in this fun, unique way. If interested, you could intersperse such wall shelves or walkways throughout the house. Or, if you have the space and ability, you could dedicate one room in the house to this, so that said room is some semblance of a playroom or jungle gym for your kitty. In the wild, cats often travel or sleep on elevated surfaces, such as trees or mountains. That's why many cats enjoy setups such as wall shelves or walkways, as this can mimic the environment of their wild ancestors.

That is such a good Spark. Health is the number one important thing in my life. Well Evan, at least she only cut off one ear. Have a great day.

Evan, we get our ears cut off in photos all the time too. But at least we get to see your handsome face. Good luck to Thimble at the vet!

We love this spark and are trying to keep it in mind this week, when we have a lot else running through our minds. And yeah, we did kind of miss those ears!

Evan, although your ears are missing, the highlight is your eye! We can see all of the colors in there! Wow!

Evan looks cute even without ears :) Cute drawing and great spark. I hope Thimble's trip to the vet goes well. Nice tip, I have 3 of those shelves waiting to be installed by the hubby ( for about 3 years).

Hope Thimble is back home safe and sound! Mudpie's ears regularly disappear around here too :(

I don"t appreciate having to go to my d-o-c-t-o-r, either! Hope all is well with the patient and that you are forgiven.

Mebbe we will be kind and say the camera was at fault.

Yeah, right!
