Scaling Mountains on Mancat Monday

Sometimes, I simply feel compelled to reiterate how much of a hero my boy Evan is to me. Today is one of those days.

Evan is hind limb paralyzed, but he still scales his own little mountains without fail. I've previously shown pictures of Evan on the above box, and of course on a number of other boxes. Today, though, I simply feel compelled to express how proud I am of my orange boy for trying and succeeding to make his dreams come true. On this particular day, his dream was merely to get himself up onto a box. Despite his hind limb paralysis, he went for it and succeeded, and he did so quite easily at that.

I hope you all don't mind my endless doting on my boy Evan (and on my other furbabies, too, because I tend to think they're all pretty awesome). I honestly just can't help myself.

Have a magnificent Monday, friends!

Our Tip of the Day:

Our series of tips relating to Thanksgiving food safety of course must include a little discussion on turkey. Is it safe to feed your kitty or pup some Thanksgiving turkey? Turkey bits fed in moderation can be a safe and delicious treat, but only as long as excess fat and bones are removed. Fat can lead to pancreatitis, among other potential issues. Bones are a choking hazard, and of course can also lead to perforation or obstruction of the gastrointestinal tract. Also keep in mind whether any additional ingredients, seasonings, or other additives were used when cooking the turkey. For example, onion, garlic, or excess salt on the turkey could potentially lead to gastrointestinal upset or other dangers. So, you don't have to skip giving your furbaby a taste of that Thanksgiving turkey, but do be sure you offer treats only in moderation, and that you take precautions for the health and safety of your furbaby.

Evan is amazing and very cute too! I never tire of hearing about your sweet furbabies. Nice drawing and excellent tips. We are very careful with bones and always get them outside in the trash quickly because Jinx is a trash picker :)

Evan is not only adorable but very much an inspiration. You have said before that he never stops - he "knows" he can do whatever he sets his mind to and does. For him, this is just the way it is and not a "handicap" in any way. He's amazing and I can just look in those eyes and see determination. He's as lucky to have YOU as you are to have him........

Love, Pam

Evan is magnificent, and as for turkey, i take the neck, boil it for stock, then crush the bones and meat into a soft meal and give that to the pets for a treat, a teaspoon or so each. It’s a lot of protein and calcium and i don’t give them enough to hurt them.

Evan is so inspiring!!!
We found our 2 yr old cat Tink Oct 1st under the barn and her back legs are paralyzed. Emergency vet everything checks out, no visual trauma, blood work, x-rays, pink pads etc. so they cant figure out what happened. We have an appointment wit a different vet this afternoon, but I'm leary that again we will have no answers. We are doing our best to keep her clean, by dipping her in a tub of warm water and flushing her private parts the best we can. We can't lift either one of her legs while shes lying on her side, she gets very upset, which we are assuming it is painful.
Can you direct me where to find specific information in a case like this? how did you you work with Evans potty issues? Tink is eating and drinking well, talks a lot, and still loves us even though we don't understand what happened or how we can better help her.
