Tomorrow will be someone's birthday. That certain someone can't believe he'll be turning 6. Neither can his mom.
Do you see how shocked this soon-to-be 6-year-old looks? That's how shocked I look right now, too. 6 years old? Where has the time gone?
Join us tomorrow for a tad bit of a birthday bash! For now, Evan's going to rest up for the fun and festivities by chilling in the window. Window whiffies for the win.
Happy Sunday, friends!

Our Doodle of the Day:
Since the A to Z Challenge only occurs on Mondays through Saturdays in April, we tend to share our illustrations for our Thursday poems on the Sunday rest day. That's why today's doodle is extra weird and wacky, because it goes along with our weird and wacky poem from this past week. If you're brave enough to read said poem, titled "In a Field of Horses", just click

Our Tip of the Day:
Today's tip is one we give every year around this time, and it's to closely monitor your furbaby should you open windows to enjoy the fresh air. Our kitties and pups love them some window whiffies, but it's extremely important to ensure they cannot escape from or fall out of said windows. Especially at the beginning of open window season, check all windows and their screens to ensure that they are securely in place. When you know a window is secure, still only open it to a safe width. If you will be sitting with your furbaby and closely watching them, a more widely open window might be safe. However, if you will not be right there to watch your furbaby closely, then only open the window to a width that ensures your furbaby cannot push the screen loose and escape. As needed, use safety measures to ensure your furbaby cannot escape. For example, many windows have anti-theft locks in the form of tabs that can be pulled out to prevent the window from opening very far, so use those to allow your kitty or pup to enjoy fresh air without escaping. You can also brainstorm other methods to keep an open window safe, such as putting a makeshift blockage directly in front of the screen, or only putting furniture a safe distance away from windows so that cats and dogs cannot easily reach the windows directly. All in all, when allowing your furbaby some window whiffies, always take any and all precautions necessary to prevent them from escaping or falling from the window.

Happy birthday to the birthday baby. :)
Your doodle is great. It made me think of Wendell from Chats on the Farmhouse Porch that I used to participate in.
Have a blessed day!
Evan is a handsome boy. He still looks like a kitten. I wouldn't miss his birthday tomorrow for anything. Cute drawing, my great niece is into unicorns right now. Great tips too.

The Hubby added extra nails to keep our old screens on the old windows, since Da Boyz just want to push...
