Thankful Thimble Thursday

On Thursdays, we usually share a poem for Angel Sammy's Thoroughly Poetic Thursday challenge. The only reason we're not doing that today is because we already shared this week's poem on Tuesday, as that was masterful poet Dr. Seuss' birthday. To read our poem for this week, just click here.

Now, let's head right into Brian's Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.

As always, a little tabby named Thimble is here to give thanks. So, what is Thimble grateful for today? She's thankful for messy, unmade beds!

Thimble is indeed that kind of kitty who tells you when you are and when you are not allowed to make the bed. On the morning this photo was snapped, Thimble informed me that she wished to sleep on the bed in a messy, unmade state. I wasn't allowed to make the bed until she was done napping, which took some number of hours. At least Thimble was happy, though!

How about we now share the fill-in statements for tomorrow's Friendly Fill-Ins challenge? My co-host Ellen of 15andmeowing came up with the first two, and I came up with the second two.

1. Nothing is better than _________.

2. I _________ my _________ in _________.

3. _________ makes me feel energized.

4. I would advise others to _________.

We'll see you tomorrow, friends!

Flashback Doodle of the Day

Before sharing any of our new springtime doodles, we're sharing a couple of random ones from the past. A lot of these older springtime doodles even inspired the new ones I'm working on, so it seems fitting enough. Today's flashback springtime doodle is from last year, 2020, and I'm sharing it in honor of Thimble's bedtime gratitude today.

That was clearly also one of the many doodles into which I threw a bunch of books. In case you're wondering, some of our new springtime doodles indeed also involve books.

Tip of the Day

Spring is just around the corner (hopefully), and that means blooms and blossoms will start to make appearances. As beautiful as it is, though, don't forget that this season can also come with dangers. That's why today's tip for National Pet Poison Awareness Month is to keep in mind that some of the plants blooming this time of year can indeed be poisonous to your pups and kitties. These include, but are not limited to, daffodils, tulips, hyacinths, crocus, azaleas, and lilies. Of course, there are plants that bloom during other parts of the year that are also toxic, so be aware of this year-round.

Try to keep your furbaby from chomping on any questionable plants, keeping an especially close eye when out on walks or in unfamiliar areas. In your own yard, block off your furbaby's access to areas that contain plants, in order to avoid the ingestion of any potentially toxic ones. If you think your furbaby might have snacked on a dangerous plant or begins displaying signs such as vomiting, diarrhea, restlessness, or lethargy, seek veterinary assistance immediately. The beauties of spring can indeed bring their fair share of dangers, so always be aware of your furbaby's safety around the plants that are blooming.

We loved your poem on Tuesday - you managed to put some Seuss into it and wove it around the little boy in the wagon as only you can do!

Hugs, Pam and Teddy

Thimble is always a joy to see, and i love a bed with books and cats. Best way to pass an hour is in bed with a book and a cat purring next to you.

I have a feeling your mom will do whatever makes you happy, Thimble!

Thimble is a cutie. I love the drawing. Great tips too. I only have plants in the dining room which is off limits to cats. I had a poisonous plant ( false shamrock) and I worried if a cat ever got in that room so I got rid of it.

Thimble! Our Mom is a stickler for making beds, but our human brother does not! So if we want an unmade bed, we go into his room! We LOVE the doodle, very seldom is there more than one of us on the bed! Have a marvellously Happy Day!
