Freestyle Sunday Selfies

We are huge fans of the Sunday Selfie blog hop, hosted by the fantabulous Kitties Blue over at The Cat on My Head. This human here especially gets excited on the weeks when all of her furbabies agree to participate. And this is one of those weeks!

Although sometimes I at least attempt to coax my furry ones to go for a common theme for their selfies, this was not one of those weeks. Honestly, on some days any small ounce of cooperation at all is a gift. So, the furabies went a bit freestyle for these selfies. To each his (or her) own, as they say!

First up, Astrid took the whole freestyle aspect very seriously. She splayed herself out on the floor, channeled her inner Dumbo, and snapped this:

Evan tried to go as freestyle as Astrid. Given that he ended up in his usual station at the front door, splayed out in the sun like be does on any day that ends in Y, I don't know that he pulled off the whole freestyle thing quite as well as Astrid. Nevertheless, here's my boy in all of his sun puddle glory:

My little model Thimble was all over this  She tried out all sorts of themes and struck any and every pose, because, well, what else would you expect from a pro model? She only had maybe a few hundred photos to pour through when all was said and done. Finally, she decided to share this up-close selfie that shows off her natural glow:

And then there's Eddy. Believe it or not, this little lady actually sat sit still long enough to snap a selfie. But, then there's the fact that a certain human hadn't managed to put the camera on the intended settings. This resulted in a silhouette of a selfie, which shy Eddy decided she liked just fine. She says she was having a bad hair day anyway, so she likes this selfie just fine the way it is:

Our Tip of the Day:
Today's tip was inspired not only by the above freestyle photo shoots for our selfies today, but also by a particular post shared by our wonderful friends over at Cat Chat with Caren and Cody back on World Photo Day in August. This tip is one especially for the humans out there reading this, and this tip is to please never feel ashamed of any photo you take. Whether it be blurry or perfectly in focus, from a unique angle or perfectly centered, taken in a dark room or in the natural light of the sun, every single photo tells a story. This is especially the case when it comes to snapping a shot of your furbaby, or even your human child, or any family or friend. Snapping a shot isn't just about having the perfect technique, but about capturing the moment. So, what it comes down to is that when you have that camera in hand, remember to have fun, capture the moment, and be proud of it no matter what!
