Mancat Monday: Labor Day Lollygagging

Today, here in the US, it's the Labor Day holiday. That means most humans are off work, which means there are certainly lots of happy furbabies. Except for those hoping for some, well, peace and quiet.

Evan, being the momma boy he is, happens to be quite happy to have his mom home today. Even if only because that means his beloved front door gets to stay open. (Honestly, boy, do you even leave that place to sustain yourself with food and water anymore?)

To show off his holiday happiness, Evan is doing a little belly roll jig.

Whew. Well, with that all said and done, I guess a nice little sun puddle nap is in store.

After all, what else would a three-day weekend be good for other than lazing and lollygagging about?

Evan and all of us here would like to wish everybuddy a happy Monday! And our US friends we wish a happy, fun, and safe Labor Day!

Our Tip of the Day:
Labor Day is often the perfect time to get together with friends and family and have a good time. That being said, please always be sure to take into account your furbaby's safety. If you are hosting a party at your house, take into consideration where your furbaby might be safest. If your dog or cat is a door bolter, wary of strangers, or is in any way at risk of escape or fearful behavior during an on-site party, please create a safe and quiet place for him or her to wait it out. In the case of cookouts, always be aware of what foods you or guests might be eating and thereby potentially sharing with your furbaby, whether intentionally or not. Food and drink such as onion, grapes, caffeine, chocolate, and alcohol are just a few that are potentially dangerous to your furbaby. And, if the weather is still hot, please also take that into consideration when planning for the care and safety of your dog or cat during any Labor Day festivities. Perhaps remaining at home in the cool indoors is the safest place for your furbaby. Or, if they are to be partaking in festivities on a warm day, be sure to supply fresh cold water, a cool place in the shade for them to rest, and constant monitoring. You and your furbaby can have plenty of fun together on Labor Day, but please remember - safety first!

Evan, I like your belly roll jig! I think you're come up with a new dance move. That sure is a great spot for a kitty. I don't blame you for not wanting to leave it. I love that last picture of your sweet face.

I am glad you are enjoying your open door Evan. You are so adorable. Great tips too. We always keep the cats shut in the bedroom when hosting a party ( which isn't often).

Too funny...Mudpie spends most of her time sunning herself at our back door, and she gets very upset when I have to close it!

Aww ... how can you resist that belly?!?! Does Evan like belly rubs? Though, I guess a sun puddle could be one of those places that a cat just wants to be left alone in.

Awww Evan, M just wants to reach right out and give that beautiful belly a big smooch. You are so cute.

What sweet pictures of you, Evan, especially the last one. Such a handsome mancat! I enjoyed having an extra day at home being with my furbabies. I guess they liked me being home--they hung out with me. :-)
