Thankful Thimble Thursday

Summer may not yet officially be here, but it's in the air nonetheless. While this mom here has been more or less melting into a puddle each time she walks outside into 90°F heat every day this week, the kitties couldn't be any happier. Especially Thimble. Window views and sun baths this time of year make for some serious happy dancing on her part.

Thimble's happy dance involves lots of belly action. Feel free to give it a rub! She won't mind one bit.

Ah, don't you just love the warm sun on your face?

Come on! Join us in our happy dance!

Thimble is always so very grateful for her sunny window seat. That's why she's entering it into Brian's Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.

We are all thankful for summer (even on those hot days when the mom dreads going out into that balmy heat and getting into the stifling car). Really, what a beautiful time of year this is. We are so very grateful for sunshine, blue skies, and beautiful flowers. And, of course, for all of you!

Our Tip of the Day:
Did you know that some studies have shown that dogs and even cats might very well know what our smiles mean? While they have other ways of showing their happiness, such as through tail-wagging and head-butting, us humans have smiles. And, our furbabies just might very well know this. So, it never hurts to smile at your own furbaby, or at a neighbor dog or cat. You never know if a smile might help brighten that furbaby's day. Of course, some friendly words and some petting, so long as it's safe, can add more happiness to a smile. That all being said, do take into consideration every animal's behavior, body language, and overall situation before approaching, or perhaps even before smiling at them. After all, to some animals, such as those who are scared or feral, a smile might not be assessed as friendly. It might even seem to them as more similar to a snarl. Smiling can indeed be contagious, but of course always use your best judgment before initiating contact with any animal.

We've had cooler weather lately...only in the low 70s...but they say the heat is gonna be on next week. We hope you get lots of belly rubs, Thimble.

We had cooler weather this week, but are expecting the heat next week. Thimble looks very happy and she is very adorable too. Cute drawing and words of wisdom. Excellent tip too, when dealing with strays and ferals, I don't make eye contact at first.
