Fun Friday

Hello, Friday! What a fun day of the week. We can look forward to the weekend, and we get to participate in the Friendly Fill-Ins challenge, hosted by our good friends at 15andmeowing and McGuffy's Reader.

Here are this week's fantastic fill-ins:

1. Meetings _________.
2. Rules _________.
3. The best time to _________ is _________.
4. I have learned _________.

I for one quite enjoy how this challenge really gets those creative brain juices flowing. Here's what my brain juices boiled up this week:

1. Meetings are no walk in the park.
(I guess it depends on the topic at hand, but for the most part, I don't tend to look forward to meetings. They can be quite dull, usually. Unless, of course, the meeting involves something like a dozen kittens or puppies, in which case I'm game.)

2. Rules often have some wiggle room.
(Of course, I am not condoning any law-breaking here. But, really, some rules are more like guidelines. Especially if a rule isn't letting you and your dreams shine, then perhaps think of it as clay that can be reshaped.)

3. The best time to start is now.
(Now or never, right? For the most part, I have never been much of a procrastinator. I don't like having too much of a to-do list looming over me. When it comes to things that intimidate me, though, that's when I do indeed drag my feet. I'm getting better at combating this, though, and am working to mold myself into more of a go-getter so that I can achieve more of my goals and dreams.)

4. I have learned that I control my own happiness.
(While I can't deny that some situations and some people can sort of damage my calm, as I've grown older I have come to realize that my reactions and my overall happiness are up to me. I don't think that anyone should let their happiness be shaped solely by outside forces. Of course I myself am certainly not perfect at following this sentiment, but I am working to get better at it every day.)

Okay, who's ready for Eddy? This happy girl wanted to show you that she is still in love with her new aquarium.

She doesn't want to spoil us, though. She'll sit still, but she certainly won't agree to look at the camera.

Oh, and if you could send some good thoughts this way, this here human has to do her yearly duty of shoving unwilling Eddy into a carrier for her annual exam on Monday. Despite it being out for public use 24/7, 365 days a year, that PTU is Eddy's worst enemy. And the V-E-T is obviously hell on earth. Monday is going to be such great fun.

Happy Friday, everybuddy!

Our Doodle of the Day:

(We're thinking this might not be all that easy to read, so in case you're wondering, it says "create". We sure do love us some arts and crafts time. Especially the kitties, because art tools make great hockey pucks, you know.)

Good luck on Monday!

Oh I know all about that hating the carrier. Gertrude used to be awful getting in the carrier. So we will keep our paws crossed for all. Your answers to the fill-ins were great. Have a great day.

I really love your answers! I agree with them, too. I like the wiggle-room theory. There usually is, too. #3. My Grampy used to say "There is no time like the present", when people would complain about things. He would say, "Then change it." And #4. Wow! You are so right. We cannot control much of Life, but we can control what we do about it, how we respond. Our happiness depends on that. HUGS!

Sweet Eddy, we're glad to see you today. If it helps, and it probably won't, some of us have our v-e-t exams this month, too, and one of us is going today! *gulp* Who? Mom's not saying.

Love your fill-ins! Our Mom's not a procrastinator either, but Dad... good thing Mom isn't!

I think "create" was very easy to read and it is a great image. :)

I don't like things to be hanging over my head either but, like you, tend to procrastinate when it is something that I dread. I'm working on that, too. Maybe we'll get there.

Your answer about rules is great! I especially like the comparison to clay. Wonderful!

Have a blessed weekend. :)

Great answers, thank you for your weekly participation. We seem to feel the same way about rules and meetings :) I like your answers to 3 and 4 too. I am glad you figured out at such a young age that only you can make you happy- I was in my 40's before I realized that. Eddy is adorable, I am impressed with so many non blurry shots lately. I love the drawing and I can read it because I learned cursive in school which sadly many don't learn anymore. Have a nice weekend!

It is a very rare meeting where something actually gets accomplished. Usually someone has a bright idea that isn't so bright, so they feel the need to pass it on. Have a great week.

OF COURSE Eddy is by the tank! That must be the only time she sits still ;) I feel your pain about the carrier. Bear is infamously horrid about that. I get it out a week early and then quickly close the doors to the other rooms right before I snatch him. If he gets into one of his unreachable hiding spots (all in the bedrooms), I can forget about taking him that day. Oh. And he howls at the top of his lungs until we're back in the car on the way home. I agree totally with your #4 ... so many people say they'll be happy only if they have x, y, or z ... then they get them and they wonder why they're not happy. Happiness is a function of being grateful for what you have instead of only seeing what you don't have. They also mistake being happy with giving up trying for more. I don't understand why. You can appreciate what you have and still try for more ... you just realize that your life is wonderful just the way it is :)

Teddy is a beast to get in the carrier then when at the vet a beast to get out of it. Jack doesn't like the carrier but it is not too difficult to get him in it but once at the vet as soon as the door is unlatched he zooms out.

We love your responses. Very positive thinking!

Good luck at the V-E-T Eddy...we'll be purring for you and it'll be over before you know it! And I love your always thoughtful answers.

Whoa! Poor Eddy. The peeps put off my vet visits as long as they can. If I didn't have asthma, I prolly wouldn't have to endure it at all. TW's cats that lived the longest were the ones who didn't have wellness exams and Aunt Pauline said the same thing. I'm not recommending not taking her.

Mom thinks your fill-ins were terrific. She says that a bad meeting can be saved with donuts as well. She says that she must have deadlines; otherwise, she is the worst procrastinator on earth!
