Happy Friday!

Isn't Friday such a wonderful day of the week? We sure think it is. Just one reason for this is how much we enjoy participating in the Friendly Fill-Ins challenge each week.

This fun challenge is hosted by none other than 15andmeowing and McGuffy's Reader, and these hosts of ours gave us some fantastic fill-ins yet again this week.

1. _________ is a waste of time.
2. My favorite app is _________.
3. My first car was _________.
4. The best car I ever owned was _________, because _________.

Here's how I fared with these:

1. Vanity is a waste of time.
(Part of what I'm trying to say here is that I, personally, don't see the point in spending a large chunk of your day making yourself look like someone you're not. I've had women tell me that their morning routine, such as their hair and makeup, takes them 1 or 2 hours, and I can't even imagine that. I think I would go crazy if I knew I had that much preparation waiting for me every morning. Maybe this just makes me lazy, but it takes me something like 5 or 10 minutes to get ready for work each day. What I like, though, is that this which happily leaves me plenty of time for the important stuff, like furbabies and family.)

2. My favorite app is Pinterest.
(I just recently got a smart phone, and one of the first apps I got was for Pinterest. I'm not a big tech junkie, so apps aren't something I seek out, but this one was a must for me. I get a lot out of Pinterest, like recipes, book recommendations, and all those quotes I keep splattering all over my daily doodles.)

3. My first car was a 1994 Plymouth Acclaim.
(This was my parents' car, but they let my sister and myself learn to drive in it, and then we drove it all throughout high school and even college. My sister and I each drove it to various jobs we had, to classes, on errands, you name it. We drove that car into the ground, the poor thing. It even tried to catch on fire at the library once, its brakes once went out when I was heading to a pet-sitting job, and it also hated cold weather so much that I sometimes would have to sit at stop lights with one foot on the brake and one on the gas to keep it revving and running. It had a lot of miles, but also lots of memories.)

4. The best car I ever owned was my 2010 Chrysler Sebring, because it's still loyal to me today.
(This is the first car that I myself bought, after I graduated college and had my first job. Not only was this one of the first truly big purchases I made using my hard-earned money, but it is still with me today. It takes me anywhere and everywhere I need to go. I know it's not an especially "fun" car, per se, and certainly no classic, but I am pretty darn fond of it.)

Many of you probably know what's up next. And that would be...Eddy!

When I first adopted this little lady, she was a very skittish little kitten. She's still my most skittish furbaby by far, and it took her a year to get to the point she is in that there photo. That's right, for at least a year, Eddy was too afraid to go anywhere near the front door, because that's where scary strangers appear, you know.

Now, though, Eddy enjoys (cautiously) gazing out the door. She doesn't even run anymore when someone passes by on the sidewalk. If they come toward the door, though, she's out of there. Baby steps, as they say. Oh, and her favorite is to spend time with Evan when he's at this beloved door of his. He's not always the best at sharing, but Eddy adores him anyway.

We hope all of you furiends of ours have a fabulous Friday!

Art of the Day:

Today I will be sharing the last drawing-turned-magnet that I created for Ann of Zoolatry. Can anyone guess who the star of this last piece is?

It's Zoey! Zoey, with her beautiful blue eyes and that adorably famous tooth of hers, was such fun to draw. Many of you probably already know Zoey, but if you don't, you can of course learn more about her at Ann's lovely blog, Zoolatry.

And of course I also have another of the images Ann created for me, using one of my favorite photos of my Angel Rosie and myself. This one is so fun and artsy. Ann even used one of the little doodles I made of my Angel Rosie (after her faulty eye was removed!).

I don't know how Ann has mastered all of these artsy effects, but she sure works wonders with them. Now, I do have a couple more images that Ann created for me. However, they are my Autumn and Winter ones, and I'm going to build up some suspense and make you guys wait to see them closer to those times of the year.

I want to thank Ann again for creating these beautiful images for me! I simply adore how she captured the love I shared with my Angel Rosie.

Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers , as always. Your first answer is so true, I never understood that either. I love Pinterest! It is so fun looking for recipes, cat pictures, etc. I pin a lot of your quotes and cat drawings too :) Your first car gave you a lot of grief, but I think most do because our folks give us a beater to practice with :) I love the drawing of Zoey, so cute. And an in amazing at what she creates, this one is wonderful. Eddy is a cutie, sorry Evan doesn't like to share the door. Have a nice weekend!

Eddy's photo, as she gazes out the door, is adorable! There is a fabulous blog about cat personalities and how to get the best out of our cat friends at http://www.wayofcats.com/blog...Pamela Merritt knows her stuff! I mention it only as a way to learn how to engage a skitty kitty like Eddy.

Cute, Eddy. xo
Wise words about vanity. Great answer, too. Granny used to say if you think too much of yourself, no one else will. I gave up on Pinterest; I tried and just could not get into it.
Have a great week. Hugs.

I love that picture of Eddy in the door. I wondered where Evan was. So the list of things Eddy's sits still for are growing ;)

Those magnets are amazing, and I love that Eddy is getting braver :) I feel the exact same way as you with regards to #1. I don't do makeup and I let my hair hang naturally (or just clip it back). I get to sleep in a little later and spend extra time with Mudpie in the morning :)

That is so great about Eddy being braver. It's always so nice to positive changes in our kitties as time goes on. She looks so adorable looking out. I love seeing cats in windows.

I'm the same with you on #1!

First, you captured Zoey purrfectly. We recognized her immediately. Ann's graphic for you is simply meowvolous. Your two talents combined make for some terrific art. Thanks for sharing. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo and Cooper Murphy
