Friendly Fill-Ins

We've made it to another Friday! Whew. Do you know what that means? It means it's time for the Friendly Fill-Ins! In case you missed them yesterday, I'll share the fill-in statements again here. Ellen of 15andmeowing came up with the first two, and I came up with the second two.

1. Superbowl Sunday _________.

2. _________ bores me.

3. If you have _________, you have everything.

4. My skill set could get me a job at _________.

Here are my answer for the week (and I didn't even get insanely wordy this time!):

1. Superbowl Sunday means I get to watch the Kitty Bowl and Puppy Bowl.
(These are the only kinds of sports I ever watch, and they're the best kind ever.)

2. Football bores me.
(Sorry, sports fans out there, but the truth is that all sports bore me. I have never played any sports, and I don't watch sports. Obviously, sports just aren't my thing. Well, except when it comes to the Kitty Bowl and Puppy Bowl. Those are my kind of thing.)

3. If you have love, you have everything.
(Corny? Probably. But it's also the only answer I could justify. Of course, as you all certainly know, some of the best kind of love out there comes in furry little packages. That's my kind of love.)

4. My skill set could get me a job at a puppy or kitty daycare.
(Any job that involves cuddling, cleaning up after, and serving furry cuties has my name written all over it. Because, you know, I already do that every day at home. And I love it.)

Are you ready for your weekly Eddy fix? Thanks to a distracting window view, Eddy managed to sit still for a whole two shots. Sure, these shots may be from some sort of strange angle, but sometimes you just do what you can.

Have a warm and wonderful day, friends!

Our Tip of the Day:

February is a busy month. At least, in terms of important messages it is. February is Spay/Neuter Awareness Month, National Pet Dental Health Month, and National Cat Health Month. Last February, we filled the month with tips on all of these topics. We've decided to do the same again this year, since the topics at hand are significant ones. So, we'll be repeating and revamping our February tips from last year. Brace yourself for a month all about health and wellness.

We'll start with spaying and neutering. As you all surely know, spaying and neutering your pets, as well as ferals outdoors, helps significantly reduce cat and dog overpopulation. This in turn reduces the number of homeless animals, the number of furbabies awaiting homes in shelters, and the number who are, sadly, euthanized due to lack of space in the shelter system. That being said, if possible, don't just stop at getting your kitty or pup spayed or neutered. If possible, consider assisting in or donating to trap-neuter-release (TNR) efforts, so that even those kitties who are most comfortable with an outdoor life can enjoy a life that does not involve contributing to pet overpopulation. All of us here certainly love animals, but all of us also certainly feel heartbroken when we remember that there are a great many cats and dogs without homes due to uncontrolled reproduction and overpopulation. So, have your pets spayed and neutered, and, if possible, do what you can to help in the efforts to have feral colonies spayed and neutered as well. Stay tuned tomorrow for some facts and tips on the health benefits of spaying and neutering your furbabies!

Not much interest in sports here, either, except things like gymnastics and figure skating. Team sports on interest me if it’s a local school team, and even then i only want to read the results, not necessarily watch the whole game.

Eddy sitting still, will wonders never cease!

Nice doodle, it makes me wistful for time to wear a dress and look out of a window on a different world.

Lots of TNR around here, we are all for it, and have a spay day coming up this weekend.

We like your fill-ins. We so wish more people would spay and neuter. You all have a really good day.

I was very athletic in my youth and into my young adulthood and loved football in the 80s and then I didn't care in the 90s. Now they are more political and that turns me off.

Have a fabulous day and weekend. ♥

Since we only have broadcast TV, looks like we won't see either Puppy or Kitten Bowls! Every year, we make up betting squares, just to add some interest to the football game, made up of teams that we have no allegiance to. I include all of the cats, and Chucky won a couple of years in a row, with The Hubby coming up second. If the temperatures are going up, then that's all I can concentrate on these days, and will probably ignore most of the Superbowl stuff.

The Tribe of Five is looking forward to the Kitten Bowl and I must say, we love, love your drawings. The one with the kitties in front of the fire in the ice cream parlor is my favorite this week! You are right, if you have love you have the most precious gift!

Great fill-in answers. I feel exactly the same about all sports :) And I completely agree with #3. Eddy is adorable, nice non blurry shots. Very cute drawing and excellent tips. It breaks my heart to know KaTwo has mammary cancer most likely because her original owners didn't get her spayed. Have a nice weekend! XO

Amen to your first two answers! Except for me there's NASCAR :) LOL

I'm surprised the humans didn't all answer #3 with CATS. BTW, this year there's also a Cat Bowl with adult cats. TW is mad that they didn't bring back John Sterling to announce the Kitten Bowl.

Super filling in today....we agree with you about LOVE! I used to watch football all the time but kind of lost interest through the years. It's not as boring as baseball but still not a biggie in this house. We'll watch the Kitten Bowl though!

Hugs, Pam

Lovely doodle!

Sports isn't my thing either.
