Well, moving on. For the first time ever, we're participating in the April A to Z Challenge. This challenge runs from the 1st to the 26th day of April, and on each of these days participants create a post using each consecutive letter of the alphabet as a prompt. Hence, A to Z!
It may or may not surprise you that we decided to share some doodles as our contribution to the A to Z Challenge. And you may or may not have noticed that we quite enjoy sharing drawings of animals. Unsurprisingly, most of our drawings star kitties and pups. Imagine that.
But, for this A to Z Challenge, we decided to go a bit out of our comfort zone. This here human has decided to make the next 26 days the A to Z Menagerie. What does that mean? That means we will still be sharing drawings of animals each day, but they will be drawings of more exotic animals, animals that this here human has either rarely or never before drawn. (Don't worry, there will still be kitties and pups aplenty here on our blog as well.)
So, here we are at the letter A. Can you guess which animal we selected to draw? Can you? For those who haven't yet just cut to the chase and scrolled down to see, the answer is...armadillo!
A bit different than our usual kitty and pup illustrations, huh? Well, you might want to get used to it. For the next 26 days, there will be lots of special guests here like this armadillo. Now, who can guess what critter we'll be sharing for the letter B? Anyone?
This armadillo is not only the first member of our A to Z Menagerie, but he's also our contribution to Athena's Caturday Art blog hop. He certainly isn't a cat, but we hope Athena won't mind.
Happy April!

Our Tip of the Day:
Don't forget that when visiting any animal sanctuary, whether it be for kitties and pups or for armadillos and the like, it is always best to resist the urge to reach into cages and enclosures to pet the animals. Some facilities do allow for this, such as with staff permission, but unless otherwise instructed, never reach into an unknown animal's enclosure. This is for your safety, as well as the animal's safety. It is also a precaution to keep other animals safe, such as other critters at the sanctuary, and even your own animals at home, as there are some inter-animal and inter-species diseases that can be transferred by touch and on clothing. So, though it may be tempting, unless you have express permission, please always refrain from reaching in to pet animals at shelters, rescues, zoos, and so forth.

Well ... he is a cutie! Tho the ones I remember from my Florida yard were not always quite that "cute" ... tearing apart the lawn and more ... "A" Always loving your creativity and art.
Your armadillo is cute. Tomorrow B for maybe bison or badger.
We have armadillos around here sometimes. I have never seen one on our property but do see them on the road. That is such a good drawing of one. How about Bear for B. Lots of possibilities. You all have a great day.
First off, I love the Easter header, too cute. And you are off to a great start for the A-Z, I can't wait to see what you come up with for the toughies like X.
I am so happy you decided to join the challenge. Excellent tip too. I don't like to go to zoos,I always feel bad for the animals.
We guess tomorrow will be a bear, and we plan to be here all the way through Zebra. Mom says that armadillos look really cool when they roll up into a ball. Does that mean we could roll it around on the floor? XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo and Cooper Murphy
