Y is for...

Today, we are of course entering the always fun Caturday Art blog hop, hosted by the one and only Athena.

Our entry is of course also our A to Z Challenge contribution for today. We're at the penultimate letter of the alphabet. In other words, Y. The letter of the day is Y.

And Y is for Yak! This yak is also so very well-read. There's nothing like diving into a good ol', bloodsucking classic. I honestly have no solid idea why I felt compelled to draw this little guy as an avid reader, except for the fact that I love books, and doodling them.

What other Y critters can our furiends out there think of?

Happy Caturday, everybuddy!

Our Tip of the Day:
Tick season is upon us. Especially if you live in an area with a high tick population, including places with tall grass or trees, it might be best to consider a monthly preventive that defends against not only fleas but also ticks. What's more, after going outside for a walk or other outing, give your furbaby a nice and thorough petting session that involves feeling for ticks. If you do find one, there are various options for removal. Tweezers or pliers can be used to try to carefully remove the entirety of the tick, being careful not to leave the head remaining on or beneath the skin. There are also other potential tricks for removal, such as putting liquid soap on a cotton ball and swabbing the tick with that for a few seconds, as that has been known to cause the tick to remove itself and come away attached to the cotton ball instead. Of course, if you are uncertain or have any concerns, it is always wise to consult a veterinarian, and to take your furbaby there for tick removal if needed. Ticks are an unpleasant finding that can lead to a variety of health risks, so please do be vigilant for them this time of year.

That is such a cute yak, good job! I can't believe the a-z is almost over, it went by fast. Excellent tip, my hubby had a tick crawling in him yesterday, it was the bigger kind, not a deer one, but still icky.Have a great weekend!

Good tip, Mom L. Ticks are scary (and sadly, abundant this time of year).

Yaks are NOT scary, especially the one you drew. Love it!
