Unfortunately, none of the furbabies here have willingly posed with any of our Halloween decor yet. I was determined to have our first post of October to be a spooktacular one, though, which meant I had to dive into the crypts for a flashback shot or two, or a few.
That pesky little ghost haunted our house Halloween season last year. Can you believe the nerve?
Evan certainly couldn't believe the gall of that ghostly fiend.
Evan was determined to rid the house of that haunter.
Does it look like Evan won that horrifying haunting? If he did, it was short-lived. After all, that ghost is back again this year, and he's as pesky as ever.
Happy Halloween month!
***Doodle of the Day: Flashback Tuesday
To further kick off this official Halloween season, today's flashback doodle is actually the one I scribbled up for Halloween itself last year. Of course, our Halloween day doodle had to star my angel Rosie. And, of course, she went trick-or-treating as the angel she is.
Cats in any form, cat-o'-lanterns, and haunted houses are some of my favorite things to doodle this time of year. The only thing I kind of wish I'd managed to throw in there was a spooky book or two, because then this doodle would have included essentially all of my favorite things to scribble up for Halloween.
***Halloween Tip of the Day
We've been doing daily trivia for a couple or a few months now. Though I do intend on going back to daily "Did you know?" tidbits in the future, for now we're going to revisit our old habit of giving daily tips. One reason for this is that the last couple months of the year are my favorite, what with it being autumn and Halloween and Christmas. That being said, this time of the year might be my favorite, but it also poses its fair share of risks to our kitties and pups. Last year, we did daily Halloween tips all throughout October, and we also gave daily tips in November and December that pertained to those times of the year. So, for the foreseeable future, we're going to do flashback tips and post the helpful hints we shared at the end of last year.
Ready for the first Halloween tip of the season? We're going to start with none other than the festive decorations. Most people might be more cognizant of their Christmas decorations and how they could affect the resident furbabies. However, also keep your furbaby's safety in mind if you put up Halloween decorations. Halloween decorations can come in all shapes and sizes, such as wreaths, garland, and all sorts of trinkets and goodies in between. If you're anything like us, you have all sorts of black cats and pumpkins out on display this time of year. No matter what kind of decorations you put out, make sure that anything your furbaby might chew on is out of their reach. Small pieces of Halloween decor, or parts and pieces of off larger pieces of decor, could lead to choking, obstruction, or perforation of the bowel if ingested. Be aware of cords that might come with certain decorations, and realize the various hazards those cords can pose to a curious kitty or pup. While you don't have to refrain from being festive and decorating for Halloween (or any holiday), you simply need to take your kitty or pup's safety into consideration and do your best to prevent injury to your furbaby when putting up your decor.
You're going to be seeing a lot of that guy, Evan!
That sweet little boy isn't scary enough to haunt, right Evan?
Am pretty sure one of your tips is about fake spiderwebs that people use as decorations: "Fake spider webs pose a significant threat to animals when used outdoors. Owls, birds, insects, small rodents, and snakes can become entangled in these life-like webs. Once stuck, they are unable to break free from the strong, synthetic fibers. While fake spider webs may add a frightening effect to Halloween-themed decorations, they should only be used indoors and disposed of properly after use." from https://www.idausa.org/campaign/wild-animals-and-habitats/latest-news/choose-animal-friendly-halloween-decorations/
Very cute flashback photos. That ghost looks like fun. Nice drawing of Angel Rosie too. And excellent tips.
I remember that little cutie! I bet you'll be having fun with him soon again.
Oh, Evan, you make any day purr-fect! But being orange-ish makes October your month!
Hope you have a funny, haunted month!
Hiya, Evan. Good job showing that ghost that you aren't going to stand for his haunting. :)
