Christmas in the Library

Today's doodle for Athena's Caturday Art Blog Hop is a flashback. The reason it's not a new doodle is thoroughly my fault, and it's because a couple days ago I got an idea for a new series of Christmas doodles. Then, instead of finishing the doodle I already had started for today, I spent the past couple of days outlining some of the doodles for my new idea. I sometimes get terribly neglectful of other projects when I get a shiny new idea. So, for today, here's a doodle that we shared last year. It's all about Christmas in a cozy little library.

The doodle that was supposed to shared today, and that I will now be finishing today, is the last one in our series starring houses from classic Christmas movies. We'll share that one tomorrow, and after that we'll start sharing our new series of doodles.

Happy Caturday, friends!

Tip of the Day

Our last Christmas tree tip relates to real trees and how they might affect your furbaby. If you have a real tree, be cautious of letting your kitty or pup drink from any accessible water in the tree stand. It is possible that certain chemicals, such as fertilizers or even pesticides, are used in some tree lots. Some of these chemicals can then end up in the water that the tree is resting in, and this can potentially lead to toxic side effects for your furbaby. Another concern relates to stagnant water in the tree stand, which can harbor potentially harmful bacteria. In addition, be careful of pine needles falling from real trees, and even artificial trees, for that matter. These needles are pointy and sharp, and if consumed this can potentially lead to internal damage. So, keep that tree water covered or somehow out of reach, and keep those fallen pine needles cleaned up, so that your furbaby and the Christmas tree can live in harmony.

Very cute drawing. Great tips too. I prefer our fake trees because I know most places spray the trees.

Cool doodles! I read that artificial trees can pose more problems for cats as far as toxicity. Dunno if it's true. Just know TW has had a cat and gotten a real tree all her life w/o problems.

We love the idea of sitting in our personal library, with a fireplace raging and a hot cup of tea!
