Friendly Fill-Ins and the Letter N

Sorry for yet another late post. Long story short, my WiFi at home went out again last night as I was trying to put the last touches on this post, so I am yet again posting this late in the morning using my workplace's WiFi. Technology is slowly sucking the life out of me, but it's fine. This is a classic First World problem, and I'll live. I really have nothing to complain about in the grand scheme of things. So, apologetically, here is our late Friday post!

Who would like to join us for the Friendly Fill-Ins challenge? Please don't hesitate to do so! My co-host Ellen of 15andmeowing came up with the first two fill-in statements, and I came up with the second two.

1. I wish I knew how to play _________.

2. If offered a free trip to space, I would _________.

3. _________ is the most exciting thing in my life right now.

4. I could give a long lecture on the topic of _________.

My answers are below in bold.

1. I wish I knew how to play the cello.
(I'm fairly certain I've mentioned this on my bog before, though it may have been years ago. I learned how to play the piano as a child, and while I'm grateful for that, as I grew older I realized how much I enjoy the tune of stringed instruments. My favorite kinds of songs are folksy ones that involve guitars, banjos, violins, violas, cellos, and all that good stringed stuff. If I could pick one stringed instrument to learn to play, it would probably be the cello. I don't know if there's an instrument that makes a sound more pleasant to my ears than the cello. That said, I also wouldn't be mad about being able to play the violin, viola, or even the guitar.)

2. If offered a free trip to space, I would enjoy a closer view of the stars.
(Going into space sounds a bit terrifying, and way too far from home, so I wouldn't actually go if I'm being totally honest. But, speaking rhetorically, if it was free and I could be back home in a jiffy, I would find it fascinating to be amongst the stars. Astronomy is a topic that greatly intrigues me, so a trip to space would be something else. I'd certainly chicken out and not actually go, but the thought is fascinating.)

3. Drawing, writing, and reading are the most exciting thing in my life right now.
(This probably sounds dreadfully dull to the majority of people out there, but as a major homebody, I happily go on adventures by way of my sketchbook, notebooks, and bookshelves. I've always been like this. I don't feel a need or desire to go on physical adventures. I'd rather be in the comfort of my own home with my furbabies. As kooky as it sounds, I feel like I get to go on fun adventures just by drawing them, writing them, and reading them. I don't really know how else to explain it.)

4. I could give a long lecture on the topic of cats.
(I could talk all day about cats, especially my cats. I could and would also happily talk about dogs, though I admittedly have more professional experience with cats thanks to a past job at a cat clinic. Honestly, though, the lecture would probably veer off to being all about my own cats and dog. As someone who doesn't typically talk a lot, if you bring up animals and give me the chance to gush about my furry family, I'll talk your ear off.)

Now, of course, it's time for today's installment of the A to Z Challenge.

Our weird and wacky A to Z theme is still halfway to Halloween, or Halfoween. And what does N spookily stand for? It stands for nightmare, for which I used Freddy Krueger from A Nightmare on Elm Street as inspiration.

Of course, we won't end this post without giving you your Eddy fix. Today, Eddy wanted to show you all how she steals as many blankets as she can to snooze on Blanket Mountain. Preferably in a sun puddle.

Happy Friday, friends!

Tip of the Day

Taking inspiration from our doodle as well as Eddy's photo, we're here to remind you not to forget the blankets and pet beds your kitties or pups regularly use when doing laundry. We may forget about blankets or pet beds that are only used by our furbabies, especially if they're tucked away in strange napping spots. Do try to remember to regularly launder them, though. This is in no small part because hair, dander, and other debris and odor from our furbabies can build up on blankets. What's more, bacteria can be introduced to pet beds and blankets from paws that go outdoors or use a litter box, and bacteria from your kitty or pup's mouth and saliva can also end up on a blanket or bed. For such reasons, in addition to regularly cleaning your own bedding and laundry, regularly cleaning pet blankets and pet beds can help ensure better health for your kitty, and for yourself and your overall home.

I'm thinking the same way you are about the trip to space. It sounds exciting, but I would probably chicken out in the end too. Similar answer to #4, but I was specific and only talking about feeding cats :) Have a great weekend!

I love this photo of Eddy- definitely not a blooper this week. Great fill-in answers. I don't talk much either, but about cats I could talk all day. :) Cute drawing, Angel Rosie looks happy to see Freddy. Have a nice weekend. XO

We're glad you're excited about drawing because we're excited about seeing your drawings! And that little Freddy kitty with the claws is just too cute! If we see him, we'll totally pretend he's scary cuz he prolly wants us to scream and stuff.
Not only is it good to wash all the kitty bedding all the time, but there's nothing we like better than fresh smelling warm soft blankets - especially the seniors. They get theirs changed every day. We have more blankets than your average blanket store.

That looks so cozy, Eddy! I love your attitude about the Wifi troubles. I would be pulling my hair out, just like I was last summer during my month of Internet woes. Couldn't agree more with #3!

TW wouldn't take a trip into space. She had nightmares after seeing the show at the Planetarium as a child. MOL! Sorry about your wifi.
Hi Eddy! Looking good!
