Friendly Fill-Ins

Hello and happy Friday, friends! We're ready for the Friendly Fill-Ins challenge, and if you are too, then please join us! My co-host Ellen of 15andmeowing came up with the first two fill-in statements, and I came up with the second two.

1. I just can't bring myself to _________.

2. I have a hankering for _________.

3. _________ changed my life.

4. At this stage of my life, I _________.

My answers are below in bold.

1. I just can't bring myself to share my angel Rosie's favorite toys with my other kitties.
(My calico angel Rosie had a handful of toys that were her absolute favorites. After she passed in 2015, I picked all of those toys up, and even her favorite couple of blankets, and stored them away in my closet. I've kept them there ever since. I perhaps could let my kitties now play with the toys and use the blankets, but I just cannot bring myself to allow for that. I don't think I ever will. Rosie's box of goodies remains in my closet, and I think those items that she cherished will always remain hers and hers only.)

2. I have a hankering for banana pudding.
(As I type this, I'm about to start making a banana pudding dessert for my mom's birthday. And so, naturally, I'm now craving banana pudding.)

3. My childhood furry friends changed my life.
(Of course all of my furbabies throughout the years have changed my life in their own ways, but I do need to give special mention to my childhood furry friends. I don't know what I would have done without my childhood cats and dogs, or even my childhood birds. My first pets, besides fish, were actually budgie birds. Then my family adopted our first cats, Rosie and Sammy. After that came my childhood dogs, Banjo and Shellie. I spent endless hours in the company of these furry and feathered friends, and they more than certainly helped mold me into the person I am today.)

4. At this stage of my life, I don't worry about the opinions of others.
(As I've aged, I've come to realize that I am who I am, and as long as I'm happy and not causing harm, then it really doesn't matter what others think or say about me. As goes a saying I once heard, other people's opinions of me are none of my business.)

Your Eddy fix for today comes in the form of really low quality photos. What's new? I'm always trying to get pictures that show off and do justice to Eddy's gorgeous aquamarine eyes. I never seem to succeed, though. My latest attempt was when Eddy was sitting on my in the dark shadows of my bedroom. I tried to use a lamp to help the situation, but it didn't really do that at all. In addition to that, Eddy wouldn't even look at me. Though the quality is horrendous, here's my attempt to show you all Eddy's pretty eyes nonetheless.

When Eddy finally did look at me, the shadows just sort of took over the whole situation.

Maybe one day I'll actually manage to get a shot that really, truly shows off Eddy's beautiful eyes. Until then, I hope you at least enjoyed these disastrous attempts

Happy Friday, friends!

Festive Flashback Doodle of the Day

I mentioned the other day how I'm working on one or two new Christmas in July doodles. For inspiration, I've been going through old Christmas in July doodles. I almost forgot I had scribbled up this one all the way back in 2018, but these days I can totally relate to the heat of it.

Tip of the Day

Many of us have furbabies who enjoy a cozy bed, and who also enjoy making a bed out of their human's clothes. That's why today's pet parenting hack of a tip is to use your old clothes to make a pet bed for your kitty or pup. You can take on old shirt, for example, and stuff it with a pillow or other type of filling. You can sew it shut, or even just safely and securely tie it shut. Not only will the soft filling make this a cozy bed, but it will also smell like you, something that many furbabies enjoy. There are a great many options for creating beds in this manner, using shirts, pants, robes, and so forth. The options are endless, and you can even find ideas and techniques online for creating a variety of such pet beds.

We understand not being able to let other kitties share Rosie's things. We love the doodle.

Eddy does have beautiful eyes. The second picture is a great one showing the eyes.

I try to snap good images of both Sweetie's and The PO'M's eyes, but I am still not satisfied.
As to your answer to #4; I believe I'm a lot older than you, but I still struggle with this one.

We do have that connection with some of our fur friends things and that is just fine. I have a dish, a crochet round bed, toys of a few of our angels too.
Eddy has beautiful eyes and we think they are Super in these photos!
Yeah, who cares what anyone says. I have stopped watching the news because of all the "Opines" Ugh!
Have a wonderful weekend and coming week

Supurr fill-ins, and #1, it's the same here the P.A. has a box with all Angel Basil's possesions in; even an empty tube of his favourite treats, the last one she bought for him for he departed 🌈💔

Eddy looks epic today!

Happy Friyay sweeties xx

I love your answers. I don't blame you for saving Angel Rosie's things. I did the same with my first cat, KaChoo. A banana pudding dessert sounds good. You are lucky you realized so young not to care about the opinions of others. It took me a lot longer. Nice photos of Eddy's beautiful eyes. And the drawing is adorable. Excellent tips too. Have a great weekend.XO

Those are darling photos. I don't think I've ever had banana pudding! Mudpie never cared for Truffles favorite beds even though I left them ouf or her at first, and I was okay with that.

Angel Rosie's items are hers, and it's okay if it stays that way.

Eddy's eyes are beautiful.

Sweetie's favorite dessert is my made from scratch banana pudding. He says it's as good as his mom's was.

Hope you've had a fabulous day!

Eddy's eyes look gorgeous to me in that last pic. TW collects and saves one or two things from each of her former cats. Mostly their fave toys but I do have a bunch of hand-me-downs like my beloved pink perch that was Nicky's.
