Thoroughly Poetic Thankful Thimble Thursday

Hello and happy Thursday! It's the day of Angel Sammy's Thoroughly Poetic Thursday challenge, so shall we get on with rhyming?

As always, our poetic host shared a photo prompt to help guide us. This week's prompt is this pretty one here:

Truth be told, I took some major liberties with this one. I've been in a really bookish mood lately, and I was indeed still in a really bookish mood when I went to scribble up this poem and its illustration. So, I used that prompt as a very loose guideline and ended up with this silly thing:

Layla's Library

Layla and her best feline friend enjoyed spending time with their family,
Who enjoyed nothing more than sailing in their boat on rivers and seas.
The problem was that the water was neither Layla nor her cat's favorite place to be.
Rather, they enjoyed nothing more than spending the day in the library.

Layla's family found a solution to that, though,
And that was putting a library beneath the deck of their family's little boat.
Layla and her water-fearing cat enjoyed this library so very much,
All while her family could enjoy sailing on the deck above.

One day her family came down to boat's little library to say,
"Layla, would you like to enjoy the sights from the deck today?"
Layla looked up from her book to give them her polite answer,
All while remaining in her library and reading by lantern.
She said, "My favorite sights are those inside my books.
There's not place else I truly wish to look."

If she wanted, Layla could see the world go by from the library window seat.
Both inside her books and outside in the world there were sights she could see.
That night, she indeed did gaze out the window and watch the world pass by,
Watching everything from the rose bushes by the river to the full moon lighting the sky.

Sure, having a library on a boat was sometimes a bit, well, odd.
And sure, maybe Layla had to bolt all of her shelves down to stay in their spot.
Really, though, Layla did not mind any of that.
And, snoozing in the library's bolted-down chair, neither did her cat.
It was the book in her hands that truly allowed Layla to travel near and far.
After all, this fantastical read took her all the way to Mars!

As always, a little tabby girl named Thimble is here to offer some gratitude. And what is she thankful for today?

Thimble is so very grateful that she is the supervisor of our little blog here. She makes sure this human does her job, types what needs to be typed, and all that good stuff. Thimble also serves as our IT department. Computer isn't behaving? Thimble will stomp all over it until it behaves. Because that's obviously the best and only solution.

Tip of the Day

Today's pet parenting hack of a tip is one to help you save on floor space. When it comes to storing some of your pet supplies—whether it be treats, canned food, medications, brushes, toys, or cleaning supplies, just to name a few—you can try using a shower caddy or other similar shelving system. You can even get shelving units that are meant to hang from a door, such as by a hook that goes over the top of door, to further save on both floor and wall space. Sometimes our furbabies come with a lot of supplies, and we have to find a place to put all of those items. So, as needed, think outside the box and find ways to use a variety of storage systems that will help save you on floor space or even wall space.
